Last Meeting ( Mar 15, 2019 ) L.A. Lakers 97, Detroit 111

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to stay perfect on their current homestand and extend their winning streak to five games in a row when they host the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. Behind 46 points and 13 rebounds from Anthony Davis, the Lakers improved to 3-0 on the five-game homestand with a 123-113 win over New Orleans on Friday.

It was the fourth 40-point game of the season for Davis, who made 15 of his 21 shot attempts, 3-of-5 from 3-point range and all 13 of his free throws. "I don't think he had one play where it looked stressed," teammate LeBron James told reporters of Davis. "He was efficient from the outset, hitting his jumpers in the low post. Made all, what, 13 of his free throws. Just another great performance." The Pistons ended a three-game losing streak with a 111-104 victory at Golden State on Saturday. Rookie Sekou Doumbouya made his second straight and has a double-double in both contests after recording 16 points and 10 rebounds versus the Warriors.

TIME: 10 p.m. ET. TV: FS Detroit, Spectrum SportsNet

ABOUT THE PISTONS (13-23): Doumbouya and others helped Detroit survive another shorthanded outing, as forward Blake Griffin (knee), forward Markieff Morris (foot) and guard Luke Kennard (knee) all sat out the win in Golden State. Veteran guard Derrick Rose provided a boost with 22 points in 28 minutes off the bench and was impressed with the play of his rookie teammate. "We know that he can hoop," Rose told Fox Sports Detroit of Doumbouya. "It's gonna take time. It's gonna take playing through mistakes just like every other great player in this league. You gotta be able to play through your mistakes. I'm happy for him, he's a great kid."

ABOUT THE LAKERS (28-7): James continued to feed Davis early and often while finishing with 15 assists to boost his NBA-leading average to 11.0. Danny Green finished with 25 points - his best total since 28 in the season opener - and a season-high five assists as he also got into the act in finding Davis. "Tonight, I think my teammates just gave me great opportunities and put me in great positions to score the basketball," Davis told reporters.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Pistons C Andre Drummond recorded his 29th double-double Saturday night with 14 points and 18 rebounds.

2. James is 25 assists shy of matching Isiah Thomas (9,061) for eighth place on the NBA's all-time list.

3. The teams split two meetings last season.
