Klay Thompson scored 26 points in 36 minutes two weeks ago on the second night of a back-to-back, and that may have been costly. That season-high in minutes then led to a five-game stretch where he has averaged less than 29 minutes and only 13.2 points. He has fallen short of this prop in three of those five games, one exception coming against the laughable 76ers. Jason Kidd should have learned his lesson, and even if he didn’t, it may be too late. Thompson should play fewer minutes tonight, scoring even fewer points against the No. 9 defensive rating since the All-Star Break.
Anthony Davis returned from a six-week absence to log 27 minutes for Dallas last night. However, the oft-injured superstar likely won't suit up on the tail end of a back-to-back which should mean more minutes for Naji Marshall. Marshall has been red-hot, scoring at least 18 points in 10 of his last 11 games. He's averaging 22.2 ppg over that span and dropped 22 points in 27 minutes last night. Marshall had been averaging 36.1 mpg in his previous 10 contests, so expect him to get back to that level tonight with Davis likely resting.
