Florida State cruised to a 113-56 win over Chicago State on Monday night in Tallahassee, Fla.
The victory was Florida State's fifth straight win since dropping its season opener against Pitt 63-61. The win pushed the Seminoles' record to 5-1.
The game marked second-round action of the Emerald Coast Classic, which the Seminoles opened by defeating Chattanooga 89-53 on Nov. 20. Florida State will face No. 17 Tennessee in the third round of the event Friday.
Florida State hit the 100-point mark with six minutes left. The Cougars (3-4) fell to 0-3 on the road in the early part of the season.
The Seminoles had five players reach double figures, led by two players with 16 points -- guard Devin Vassell and forward Patrick Williams. Guards Nathanael Jack and Trent Forrest added 14 points apiece in the win, while center Balsa Koprivica rounded out the double-figurer scorers with 10 points and a team-best seven rebounds.
Florida State crushed Chicago State on the boards 43-20.
Chicago State's lone bright spot was the play of guard Andrew Lewis with a game-high 18 points. The Cougars only had one other player score 10 points, center Solomon Hunter, who finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Florida State, which improved to 2-0 all-time against the Cougars, shot 65 percent from the floor, going 38 of 58 from the floor. The first game between the two teams -- a 47-42 Seminoles victory -- came in the Pittsburgh Holiday Hoops Classic on Dec. 20, 2003.
Chicago State's next game will be Friday against Jacksonville State.
