Stanley Umude scored 17 points, 15 in the game's first 20 minutes, as No. 10 Arkansas outlasted a spirited first half by Central Arkansas before rolling to a 97-60 win on Wednesday in Fayetteville, Ark., to remain undefeated.
The Razorbacks (7-0) led by six points at halftime before reeling off the first 11 points and 15 of the first 18 points of the second half to build an 18-point advantage.
Arkansas left no doubt about who was the better team throughout the final 15 minutes, running its lead to 24 points after a layup by Au'Diese Toney at the 10:20 mark, by 34 points on a driving layup by Davonte Davis with 6:01 remaining and cruising to the finish line.
Davis and Toney added 16 points each for the Razorbacks, with JD Notae scoring 10 points and Jaylin Williams pulling down 13 rebounds for Arkansas. The Razorbacks shot 54.8 percent from the floor despite going 4 of 18 from beyond the arc.
Collin Cooper led the Bears with 13 points before fouling out while Camren Hunter and Darious Hall scored 12 points each for Central Arkansas (1-7), which dropped its fourth straight game.
Arkansas shot 51.7 percent in the first half but could not create any real separation from the Bears, never creating more than a 10-point margin and leading by just 41-35 at halftime. Central Arkansas tied the game at 21 at the 8:05 mark before the Razorbacks forged a 34-24 lead after a layup up Davis at the 4:04 mark and by 10 points with 1:59 left in the half on Umude's free throw.
Jaxson Baker's jumper with 18 seconds to play in the half allowed Central Arkansas to pull to within six points at the break.
Umude led all scorers with 15 points at the break, with Cooper pacing Central Arkansas with 11 first-half points.
Arkansas opened the second half with a 11-0 run, with Davis and Toney scoring four points each in the spurt.
