Keeshawn Barthelemy had 12 points, and Colorado led all the way in beating Cal State Bakersfield 60-46 in Boulder, Colo., on Saturday.
Elijah Parquet and Nique Clifford scored 10 points each for the Buffaloes, who improved to 7-1 at home.
Kaleb Higgins scored nine points to lead Cal State Bakersfield (4-4), which shot just 27.3 percent from the field and 2 of 14 from 3-point range.
The Buffaloes (9-3) shot 42.2 percent, including 7 of 17 from behind the arc.
Colorado led by 10 early in the first half but the Roadrunners were able to cut the deficit to 21-15 on two free throws by Shawn Stith with 2:07 left.
The teams traded missed shots before Julian Hammond hit a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left to put the Buffaloes ahead 24-15 at halftime.
Stith opened the second half with a layup but Evan Battey answered with a layup, Barthelemy hit two free throws and Parquet finished an alley-oop to put Colorado ahead 30-17.
Stith made two free throws to make it an 11-point game but Battey followed with two free throws and Clifford drained a 3-pointer to push the Buffaloes' lead to 37-21 with 15:26 remaining.
Barthelemy's 3-pointer with 12:50 left gave Colorado a 42-26 lead. Bakersfield got within 44-31 with just over 12 minutes left but Lawson Lovering scored off of an offensive rebound and K.J. Simpson's two free throws made it 48-31 midway through the second half.
The Roadrunners started to rally. Justin Elder-Davis hit three free throws and a 3-pointer, McCall made two foul shots and Stith split a pair of free throws in a 9-2 run that got Cal State within 50-40 with 6:56 left.
After a dunk by Parquet, McCall hit a put-back layup and a jumper to make it an eight-point game.
Tristan da Silva made two free throws and a turnover by McCall led to a layup for Battey and a 56-44 lead with 3:39 left.
After a timeout, Battey made two free throws, Higgins answered with a jumper and Clifford hit a layup to seal it with 46 seconds left.
