Last Meeting ( Jan 11, 2020 ) Tulane 65, Temple 51

Temple gets a chance to avenge one of its worst performances of the season Wednesday when it visits Tulane in American Athletic Conference action. The Green Wave pounded the Owls in Philadelphia 65-51 in mid-January - one of only two conference victories so far for Tulane, which sits in last place in the league.

Every other AAC team has at least four conference victories, including Temple (4-7), which has won two of its last three and topped SMU 97-90 in overtime its last time out. Tulane has dropped seven straight contests, meanwhile, with all of those defeats coming by double digits. In fact, the Green Wave have not won since stunning the the Owls behind 17 points apiece from Jordan Walker and Teshaun Hightower, plus a 16-point, 10-rebound effort from K.J. Lawson. The Owls missed 19 of their 24 3-pointers that day as part of a 31.5 percent shooting effort overall, and 18 turnovers didn't help matters either.

TIME: 8 p.m. ET. TV: ESPN3

ABOUT TEMPLE (12-11, 4-7 AAC): The Owls have struggled to find an offensive rhythm for most of the season, so every quality offensive performance is important, including seldom-used Damion Moore's nine points on 4-of-4 shooting against SMU. “That was awesome,” coach Aaron McKie said. “Really just rooting for [Moore]. He stepped in, made the call, kept himself ready and delivered for us. He gave us a physical presence in the middle. In the defensive side, he gave us something on the inside.” Quinton Rose (15.9 points) is the top scorer on the team and has scored at least 20 points in four of the last six games, and he didn't commit a turnover in the game against SMU for the first time since Nov. 29.

ABOUT TULANE (10-13, 2-9): Tulane has three double-digit scorers on the season with Hightower (15.0) and Lawson (14.0) leading the way, followed by Christion Thompson (12.9). Hightower was 1-of-9 from the field against East Carolina the last time out and is 2-of-17 from 3-point land over the previous three games. Lawson has attempted 35 shots from the floor over the last three games with only two assists during that stretch.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Temple G Monty Scott had 22 points against SMU - twice his previous season high.

2. None of Tulane's top seven scorers shoots better than 43.1 percent from the field.

3. Rose, a senior guard, has registered five blocks in the last two games.

PREDICTION: Temple 74, Tulane 59
