Last Meeting ( Feb 16, 2019 ) Temple 70, South Florida 69

In the midst of a rocky season, South Florida has a chance to win its final road game Sunday when it takes on American Athletic Conference foe Temple. The Bulls recently lost four games in a row before bouncing back to defeat East Carolina in overtime on Wednesday.

Justin Brown scored five of his 18 points in overtime to help provide some cushion in the 73-68 defeat, while Michael Durr contributed 15 points and eight rebounds. Temple has lost three of its last four games - the last two by a total of seven points - and is coming off a hard-fought 72-69 setback at Wichita State on Thursday. Quinton Rose had 20 points to pace the Owls in that one and only has three games left in his collegiate career, plus however far he can propel Temple in the conference (and perhaps a postseason) tournament. This is the first meeting between the teams this season, although the Owls won both meetings last year - each in overtime - by a total of three points.

TIME: Noon ET. TV: CBS Sports Network

ABOUT SOUTH FLORIDA (12-16, 5-10 AAC): David Collins (13.9 points) and Laquincy Rideau (12.7) have handled the bulk of the offensive workload for USF this season, although both guards struggle with their shooting in a major way. Collins shoots under 43 percent from the field and Rideau is at 38.3 percent, while both hover around 27 percent shooting from 3-point range. From the foul line, Collins (65.8) and Rideau (56.4) are two big reasons why the Bulls only shoot 64.8 percent from the foul line as a team.

ABOUT TEMPLE (14-14, 6-9): The Owls are a dreadful shooting team themselves, with their top three scorers all shooting under 41 percent from the floor and their top two scorers shooting under 26 percent from the 3-point line. Rose has scored at least nine points in every game this season and totaled eight steals over the last two games, although he is 2-of-19 from 3-point range in the last five games. Monty Scott provided a spark with 14 bench points against Wichita State, marking the fifth time in the last six games that the junior has scored at least a dozen points.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Brown only has committed 30 turnovers in 28 games this season.

2. USF hasn't scored 80 points in a game since Dec. 15 against Drexel.

3. Only one player on Temple has more than 12 blocks this season - Rose, a guard, who has 21.

PREDICTION: Temple 67, USF 62
