Last Meeting ( Mar 5, 2019 ) Pittsburgh 63, Miami-Florida 76
After snapping a long losing streak, Pittsburgh seeks an ACC road winning streak when it travels to Miami (Fla.) on Sunday. The Panthers rallied from a 14-point deficit to snap their 22-game conference road losing skid when they won for the first time in eight tries against North Carolina on Wednesday.
"I don't think our program has won an ACC road game since 2017 (Boston College). For us to be able to do that, I don't think it is a coincidence that it had to have a lot of adversity and a lot of things that we didn't do in the first half, to get down and have to come back," second-year coach Jeff Capel said. "But it means a lot for us. We have to build off it though." Sophomore Trey McGowens was the star, scoring 24 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out eight assists and recording four steals. McGowens snapped a 56-56 tie by scoring eight consecutive points in a 90-second span, giving the Panthers the lead for good with just over seven minutes remaining. Miami will be trying to stop its two-game losing streak after getting thumped by No. 2 Duke 95-62 on Jan. 4 before losing at No. 11 Louisville 74-58 on Tuesday.

ABOUT PITTSBURGH (11-4, 2-2) ACC): Freshman Justin Champagnie (11.7 points, 6.5 rebounds) added a season-high 22 points against the Tar Heels to improve his averages to a team-high 17 points over the past four games and eight rebounds, while Xavier Johnson (12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists) added 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Champagnie ranks sixth among ACC freshmen in scoring and is third in rebounding, while Johnson is one of three players in the ACC (joined by Duke's Tre Jones and North Carolina State's Markell Johnson) averaging at least 10 points, 3.5 rebounds and five assists per game. McGowens (team-highs of 12.9 points and 2.0 steals - third in ACC) has scored in double figures in seven of the past eight games (14.5 points, 3.4 assists, 2.6 steals).
ABOUT MIAMI (9-5, 1-3): Guards Chris Lykes (team-high 15.5 points) and Kameron McGusty (15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds) scored 18 points apiece, but the Hurricanes were down 30-10 early and shot just 27.8 percent from the field, including 9-of-30 on 2-pointers. The Hurricanes rallied to within five before the Cardinals pulled away for the victory. "Well, throughout the game, the players have to make constant adjustments as to what's going on, on the court," Miami head coach Jim LarraƱaga said. "When we fell behind by 20, we had to change our defense, change the matchups and change our strategy. The players made the adjustments and did a really good job of finding guys and making shots. Not easy shots, but still shots they could make."
