The Calgary Stampeders look to keep their hopes of winning their fourth straight West Division title alive when they travel to Vancouver to battle the BC Lions on Saturday. The Stampeders were in the driver's seat for the division crown until they dropped a 29-28 decision to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Week 20 to tumble out of first place, and need a victory over the Lions coupled with a loss by the Saskatchewan Roughriders to earn a bye into the Western final.

"It might be a tougher path but we understand that," Calgary coach Dave Dickenson told reporters. "We just have to work hard and see what happens." BC is playing solely for pride after it was officially eliminated from playoff contention with a 19-6 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos on Oct. 12. The Lions, who suffered a 27-19 defeat to the Roughriders in Week 19 before going on a bye, couldn't overcome a 1-10 start and hope to avoid the dubious distinction of becoming the first team in franchise history to finish with an 0-10 record against West Division rivals by knocking off Calgary at BC Place for the first time since 2016. "We know Calgary is in a must-win situation for a home playoff game so we know they're going to come in here and give us their best effort," BC coach DeVone Claybrooks told reporters. "We want to end the season with a bang and springboard us into 2020."

ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (11-6): Bo Levi Mitchell completed 31-of-43 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns in the loss to Winnipeg to surpass 300 yards through the air for the fifth time in his last six games. Safety Royce Metchie is questionable after suffering an upper-body injury against the Blue Bombers while defensive end Cordarro Law is likely to miss his second straight game with an unspecified issue. Defensive back Tre Roberson and wide receiver Eric Rogers, who has caught 10 touchdown passes this season, missed practice Tuesday but are expected to suit up on the weekend.

ABOUT THE LIONS (5-12): Danny O'Brien was limited to 171 yards on 16-of-25 passing with a touchdown in his first career start with Mike Reilly out for the season after undergoing wrist surgery. Bryan Burnham caught three passes for 72 yards and a touchdown against Saskatchewan to take his season total to a career-best 1,401 receiving yards. John White was held to 38 yards on 12 carries against the Roughriders, but can register the first 1,000-yard rushing season of his six-year career by gaining 40 yards Saturday.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Mitchell has thrown nine TDs over his last three games.

2. Burnham has caught six touchdown passes in his last five contests.

3. Calgary WR Reggie Begelton needs four receptions to reach 100 for the season.
