The visiting Edmonton Eskimos look to halt their losing streak when they face the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday. The Eskimos started the season 7-0 but have dropped four consecutive games, including back-to-back contests against the Calgary Stampeders, to tumble down the West Division standings, and hope to stop their downward spiral by plugging a leaky defence which has surrendered an average of 37.8 points during the slide.

Edmonton has fared well against East Division teams, winning 10 straight regular-season games, and searches for its fourth consecutive victory over the Argonauts. Toronto has had a week off to regroup after a disappointing 24-22 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Labour Day Classic. The Argonauts sat atop the East Division for most of July, but have dropped five of their last six games and search for some playmakers on offence after being held to fewer than 10 points twice in their last four contests. "It's about making key plays when you have a chance to do something good out there," Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray told reporters. "The frustrating part has been when you look at the film there are opportunities for us to win games."

ABOUT THE ESKIMOS (7-4): Defensive back Mercy Maston suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the warmups prior to the 25-22 setback to Calgary while Johnny Adams is ready to return to the secondary after recovering from a shoulder problem. Derel Walker, who was a CFL all-star in 2015 and 2016, caught eight passes for 93 yards to go along with a rushing touchdown in his first game since returning to Edmonton following a short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brandon Zylstra was named one of the CFL's Top Performers of the Week after he hauled in 10 passes for 187 yards to post his league-leading sixth 100-yard game of the season.

ABOUT THE ARGONAUTS (4-7): S.J. Green hauled in nine passes for 103 yards against Hamilton to surpass 1,000 yards for the fifth time in the last seven seasons. Shawn Lemon, who is tied for first in the CFL with seven sacks, suffered an injury to his right shoulder against the Tiger-Cats and will miss Saturday's clash. Toronto made a couple of big personnel moves as it signed former NFL linebacker Akeem Jordan, who appeared in 100 games with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins, while bringing back Mitchell White to the CFL after the ex-Ottawa defensive back was released by the Eagles.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Edmonton hasn't lost to an East Division team since Aug. 6, 2016.

2. The Argonauts are 0-5 against West Division opponents in 2017.

3. Edmonton QB Mike Reilly leads the CFL with 24 total touchdowns.

PREDICTION: Eskimos 27, Argonauts 23
