The Calgary Stampeders look to extend their home winning streak to 15 games when they face the Edmonton Eskimos in the annual Labour Day Classic on Monday. The Stampeders took sole possession of first place in the West Division after shutting down the Toronto Argonauts 23-7 in Week 10 and they look to maintain their grip on the top spot by winning their sixth consecutive game overall.

Calgary has dominated the Labour Day series with Edmonton, notching five victories in a row, and have won nine of the last 11 meetings, including a 45-24 triumph last season. The injury-riddled Eskimos came crashing back down to earth after a 7-0 start as they dropped back-to-back games, including a disappointing 54-31 home loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 10. Edmonton, which has had 38 players miss at least one game this season, turned the ball over five times en route to its most humbling defeat of the season, and hopes to end its slide by beating Calgary on Labour Day for the first time since 2011. "There's no need to hit the panic button right now," Eskimos linebacker Kenny Ladler told reporters. "How we respond to these losses is going to define the character of this team."

ABOUT THE ESKIMOS (7-2): Mike Reilly had an uncharacteristically poor night against Saskatchewan as he threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns, and finished without a passing TD for the first time in 19 regular-season games. "The first two days after the game I didn't sleep very well," Reilly told reporters. "I've moved on from it but I think it lit a little bit of a fire." Edmonton will get a boost with the news that wide receiver Adarius Bowman, who led the team in receptions and receiving yards for the past three seasons, is set to return to action after missing the last six games with a hamstring injury.

ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (7-1-1)
: Bo Levi Mitchell threw for a season-high 384 yards despite battling a sore shoulder in the win against Toronto. Offensive lineman Spencer Wilson is out for the foreseeable future after suffering a hand injury against the Argonauts, but Dan Federkeil returned to practice after missing a game and is expected to play on Monday. Calgary released a trio of players on the defensive side of the ball, most notably defensive tackle Bryan Hall, who recorded three tackles and a sack in five games in 2017, while the club acquired offensive lineman Dillon Guy from Saskatchewan in exchange for defensive back Adam Laurensse.

EXTRA POINTS

1. The Stampeders are 28-3 at home since the start of the 2014 season.

2. Edmonton has had a 100-yard receiver in 10 straight games.

3. Calgary RB Jerome Messam leads the CFL in rushing yards (621) and rushing touchdowns (seven).

PREDICTION: Stampeders 37, Eskimos 27
