Last Meeting ( Jul 8, 2017 ) Hamilton 20, Saskatchewan 37

The Saskatchewan Roughriders look to bounce back from a humbling loss when they hit the road to take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday. The Roughriders had won three straight games before suffering a 48-28 setback to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Banjo Bowl to fall back into the West Division cellar, and to make matters worse lost starting quarterback Kevin Glenn to an injury on his throwing hand.

Glenn will be a game-time decision and if he's unable to play, the Roughriders will rely on Brandon Bridge to keep them in contention for a playoff spot. The Tiger-Cats have won back-to-back games for the first time in more than a year after jumping out to a big first-half lead and holding on for a 26-22 victory against the East Division-leading Ottawa Redblacks. Jeremiah Masoli had another solid outing and is 2-0 since taking the starting quarterback job from Zach Collaros as Hamilton remained in the discussion for a postseason bid despite losing its first eight games of the season. "That's the big picture but we need to stay focused every week," Masoli told reporters. "We need to go 1-0 every week and on to the next game."

TV: 7 p.m. ET, TSN, RDS

ABOUT THE ROUGHRIDERS (5-5): Glenn threw for 327 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including an 88-yard bomb to Duron Carter, before leaving the game late in the third quarter. Bridge passed for 67 yards with an interception, but rushed for a touchdown in relief of Glenn while Naaman Roosevelt hauled in four passes for 102 yards and a TD to go over the 100-yard receiving mark for the second straight game. "Right now it's day-to-day," Saskatchewan coach Chris Jones told reporters of Glenn's injury. "We know it's not broken so it's just a matter of what KG can handle and we'll make sure our other guys are ready if not."

ABOUT THE TIGER-CATS (2-8): Masoli was named one of the CFL's Top Performers of the Week after he completed 17-of-31 passes for 231 yards and added 73 on the ground to lead Hamilton to its first road win of the campaign. C.J. Gable had the best game of his injury-plagued season as the former USC Trojan rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns while Jalen Saunders caught four passes for a team-high 88 yards against Ottawa. Canadian wide receiver Felix Faubert-Lussier had two receptions for 15 yards before suffering a hip pointer but is expected to play on Friday while defensive end Justin Capicciotti also went down with an injury and his status is unknown.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Saskatchewan won the first meeting 37-20 on July 8.

2. Carter has caught at least one touchdown pass in six straight games.

3. Hamilton has dropped 10 straight games against West Division opponents.

PREDICTION: Roughriders 29, Tiger-Cats 27
