Last Meeting ( Sep 3, 2018 ) Toronto 28, Hamilton 42

The visiting Hamilton Tiger-Cats look to beat the Toronto Argonauts for the second time in less than a week when the Battle of Ontario resumes Saturday. The Tiger-Cats scored the final 21 points en route to a 42-28 victory against the Argonauts to claim their fifth straight victory in the Labour Day Classic and hope to take another step toward cementing a postseason berth by notching three straight wins overall for the first time in more than three years.

"We're in a good place to put ourselves in a position for the playoffs," Hamilton wide receiver Luke Tasker told reporters. "I think we can win a lot more games if we continue to fix some little things." Toronto is left to pick up the pieces after letting a lead slip away to fall four games below .500 with eight to play. The Argonauts find themselves in a similar position as last year when they were 4-7 following a Labour Day loss to the Tiger-Cats before wining five of their last seven regular-season contests en route to lifting the Grey Cup and hope for a similar turnaround in the second half of 2018. "Our team is well aware of what our record was after 11 games last season," Toronto coach Marc Trestman told reporters. "But we're an entirely different team and right now we have to continue to find ways to get better."

TV: 1 p.m. ET, TSN

ABOUT THE TIGER-CATS (5-5): Jeremiah Masoli had a big night as he completed 26-of-35 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns while Alex Green added 115 rushing yards and a pair of TDs in the win against Toronto. Jalen Saunders, who has 45 receptions for 739 yards and two touchdowns this season, is out for the foreseeable future after suffering an MCL sprain in the second quarter against the Argonauts. Shutdown corner Delvin Breaux, who spent three seasons in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, took a blow to the head in the third quarter and is questionable for Saturday's clash.

ABOUT THE ARGONAUTS (3-7): Short-yardage quarterback James Franklin rushed for a pair of touchdowns to take his season total to a league-leading nine, which matches the franchise record set by Doug Flutie in 1996. Franklin also threw a touchdown pass to offensive guard Ryan Bomben - the third TD catch of his career - who lined up as a tight end while James Wilder Jr. racked up 89 yards from scrimmage. Linebacker Marcus Ball missed most of the second half with a pulled hamstring and is questionable for Saturday.

EXTRA POINTS

1. The Tiger-Cats are tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns (14).

2. Hamilton WR Brandon Banks has registered seven 100-yard receiving games in 2018.

3. Toronto DB Alden Darby has scored defensive touchdowns in two straight games.

PREDICTION: Argonauts 30, Tiger-Cats 27
