BC @ Calgary preview
McMahon Stadium
Last Meeting ( Aug 4, 2018 ) BC 18, Calgary 27
The Calgary Stampeders hope to clinch the West Division title when they face the visiting BC Lions on Saturday. The Stampeders, who are already assured of hosting a playoff game, edged the Montreal Alouettes 12-6 in Week 17 to remain four points ahead of Saskatchewan and can secure their third consecutive division title if they beat the Lions at home for the sixth straight time in the regular season and the Roughriders fall to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Calgary downed BC 27-18 in its previous meeting in Week 8 and hopes for more of the same as its aims to stretch its home winning streak to eight games this season. BC is one of three teams fighting for the final two playoff spots after they held off the Toronto Argonauts 26-23. The Lions have won four of their last five games to jump back into the playoff picture and received some more good news as Travis Lulay is ready to return to the lineup after missing the last two outings with a dislocated shoulder, and the veteran quarterback hopes to lead BC to its first win in Calgary since Aug. 1, 2014. The Lions are tied with the Edmonton Eskimos in fourth place and are two points behind the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, but have a game in hand on both teams as they search for a postseason berth after missing out last season.

ABOUT THE LIONS (7-7): Jonathon Jennings threw for 199 yards and a touchdown against the Argonauts but will make way for Lulay, who has passed for 1,845 yards and eight TDs in eight appearances this season. "No one feels great at this time of year but I definitely feel good and I'm ready to play," Lulay admitted to reporters."I feel like I've caught up to where everyone else is playing hurt at this time in the season." Tyrell Sutton is expected to make his first start since being acquired from the Montreal Alouettes on Sept. 25 despite Jeremiah Johnson rushing for 118 yards against Toronto while BC released running back Travon Van.
ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (12-2): Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 199 yards but was intercepted three times and finished without a touchdown pass for the first time this season. "A win is a win, it still counts and puts another two points in our pocketbook but it was a struggle," Calgary coach Dave Dickenson told reporters. "We know we have to get better in order to get where we want to be." Former NFL wide receiver Chris Matthews, who was signed Oct. 2 after injuries to DaVaris Daniels (collarbone), Kamar Jorden (knee), Reggie Begelton (arm) left a huge void at the position, could make his Calgary debut after sitting out Monday's clash with an undisclosed issue.
