The Winnipeg Blue Bombers look to complete the season sweep of the BC Lions when the teams conclude their home-and-home set Saturday in Vancouver. The Blue Bombers cruised to a 41-19 victory against BC with Matt Nichols at the helm after the veteran quarterback missed the first three games of the season with a knee injury, and hopes to lead Winnipeg to back-to-back victories for the first time in 2018.

"It's nice to have him back out there," Winnipeg coach Mike O'Shea told reporters. "He ran the offence well and he led the team and that's what we expect." The Lions are left to lick their wounds after they were limited to 265 yards of net offence against Winnipeg. Jonathon Jennings was held without a touchdown pass for the second straight week and BC's defence gave up more than 40 points for the second time in as many games, prompting Wally Buono to consider inserting veteran quarterback Travis Lulay as the new starter. "There's more to it than the quarterback but we'll take a good look at that then we'll do what we have to do," Buono told reporters. "There's reasons why we're not executing but we have to share part of the burden."

TV: 10 p.m. ET, TSN, ESPN Plus

ABOUT THE BLUE BOMBERS (2-2): Nichols completed 16-of-29 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown in his first game action since suffering a knee injury in training camp. Linebacker Adam Bighill, who spent six successful seasons with the Lions, was named one of the CFL's Top Performers of the Week after he recorded six tackles and two interceptions, including one for a touchdown against his former team. Winnipeg added defensive back Jeff Hecht, who started 10 games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders last season, to the practice squad.

ABOUT THE LIONS (1-2): Jennings was limited to 105 yards through the air -- his lowest total as a starter -- with two interceptions in the loss to Winnipeg and has failed to pass for 200 yards in each of his first three games this season. Jeremiah Johnson was one of the lone bright spots on offence as he rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown against Winnipeg while short-yardage quarterback Cody Fajardo added a TD on the ground. Lulay hasn't taken a live snap since suffering a season-ending knee injury Sep. 8, 2017, but has been progressing weekly and has dressed for the last two games.

EXTRA POINTS

1. BC has dropped seven of its last eight games against fellow West Division foes.

2. Winnipeg backup QB Chris Streveler is second in the CFL with 10 total touchdowns.

3. Nichols is 22-9 in his last 31 games as the Blue Bombers' starter.

PREDICTION: Blue Bombers 31, Lions 23
