The Calgary Stampeders hope the third time's the charm when they take on the Ottawa Redblacks in the 106th edition of the Grey Cup on Sunday in Edmonton. The Stampeders finished with the best record in the CFL the previous two seasons, but weren't able to parlay that success into a championship, falling twice at the last hurdle by a combined nine points, and look to exact a measure of revenge on the Redblacks following a 39-33 overtime loss in the 2016 title game.

"You don't build it up to be a redemption for the last one because you are going to put too much pressure on yourself," Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell told reporters. "You have to go out there and win a football game so don't make it bigger than it is." Ottawa has reached the CFL's biggest stage for the third time in their four-year existence following an impressive 46-27 victory against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Division Semifinal. The Redblacks have played some memorable games with Calgary over the past four years, including a pair of contests which ended in ties, but have failed to notch a win in their last seven regular-season meetings while hoping to win the one that counts and bring the Grey Cup back to the nation's capital. "That seems like an eternity from now when we played those two games," Ottawa wide receiver Brad Sinopoli told reporters about back-to-back losses to the Stampeders in June and July. "You try to peak at the right moment and that's what we're doing right now."

ABOUT THE REDBLACKS (12-7): Trevor Harris put in one of the best performances of his career as he finished 29-of-32 for 367 yards and a CFL playoff-record six touchdown passes against Hamilton. Defensive back Jonathan Rose, who was tied for the league lead with five interceptions, will miss the Grey Cup pending an appeal after he was suspended one game for pushing a referee to the ground during a sideline melee against the Tiger-Cats. "I don't want to be a distraction and I would never do anything to jeopardize this team's success," Rose told reporters. "I feel like we've got a good understanding between me, the commissioner and the CFLPA so hopefully these guys get it worked out."

ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (14-5): Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns in the 22-14 victory against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Division Final to become the fifth player in CFL history to win a playoff game in five straight years. Eric Rogers caught six passes for 61 yards and three touchdowns against the Blue Bombers despite hurting his knee in the second half, but is expected to be at full strength Sunday. Calgary will be without the services of running back/kick returner Romar Morris, who suffered an Achilles injury last weekend, with Terry Williams likely to take his place.
