The Calgary Stampeders hope to clinch the West Division title when they conclude the regular season on the road versus the BC Lions on Saturday. The Stampeders missed their third straight opportunity to lock up the division title following a 29-21 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Week 20, but still control their own destiny as a win against the Lions will halt the challenge of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and secure a bye to the Western Final.

"We have to be men, pull up our britches and get the job done," Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell told reporters. "This team has each other's backs and we're ready to go out and get a win." The Lions have already clinched a playoff spot despite suffering a 35-16 setback to the Roughriders in Week 20. BC, which has lost seven of its nine road games this season, will cross over to the East Division to face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Eastern semifinal on Nov. 11, but will first try to knock off the Stampeders twice in the same season for the first time since 2013. "We've seen this movie before but all we can do is learn from it," BC head coach Wally Buono told reporters. "We'll use it as motivation for when these games become do or die in two weeks time."

ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (12-5): Defensive back Tre Roberson, linebacker Jameer Thurman and defensive end Derek Wiggan all missed the loss to Winnipeg through undisclosed injuries, but are expected to return to the lineup for Saturday's clash. Mitchell threw for 274 yards and a touchdown against the Blue Bombers to pass Roy Dewalt (24,147) for 22nd place on the CFL's all-time passing list with 24,195. Starting defensive back Ciante Evans, who was sidelined for three games with a sore leg earlier in the season, went down with a lower-body injury against Winnipeg and is questionable for Saturday.

ABOUT THE LIONS (9-8): Travis Lulay was held to 94 yards on 9-of-20 passing with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions, including a pick six in the fourth quarter of the loss to Saskatchewan. Bryan Burnham caught two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown against the Roughriders to move within 14 yards of reaching 1,000 for the third straight season. Buono, who is the winningest coach in CFL history with 273 victories in the regular season, will be on the sidelines for his final home game as he intends to retire at the end of the campaign.
