Last Meeting ( Jul 22, 2017 ) Saskatchewan 10, Calgary 27

The Calgary Stampeders look to continue their march toward their second West Division title in as many seasons when they travel to Regina to tangle with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday. The Stampeders have won eight consecutive games, including a 27-13 victory against the BC Lions in Week 13, to extend their lead to five points at the top of the standings, and hope to pull away from the chasing pack by beating the Roughriders for the 10th straight time.

"We're working extremely hard and we believe in each other," Calgary coach Dave Dickenson told reporters. "All three phases are working hard and doing the right things." Saskatchewan is trending in the right direction following a gritty 27-19 road victory against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Roughriders have won four of their last five contests to climb out of the West Division cellar and are right in the thick of the playoff race with seven games to go, as they search for their first postseason appearance since 2014. Veteran quarterback Kevin Glenn is set to return after missing one game with an injury to his throwing hand and hopes to give the offence a boost after the unit was held to its lowest point total in five games under backup Brandon Bridge.

TV: 4 p.m. ET, TSN, ESPN2

ABOUT THE STAMPEDERS (10-1-1): Calgary could be without a key offensive contributor as Jerome Messam, who leads the league with 770 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, didn't practice after suffering a neck injury against BC. Linebacker Alex Singleton continues to have a career year as he registered 11 tackles and a sack against the Lions to become the first player in CFL history to register 10 or more tackles in three consecutive games. The Stampeders signed kicker David Deschamps to provide depth at the position as Rene Paredes is questionable after tweaking a muscle last weekend while defensive back Mario Butler retired abruptly during the week.

ABOUT THE ROUGHRIDERS (6-5): Glenn has thrown for 1,273 yards and 10 touchdowns in his last four starts and hopes to lift Saskatchewan past Calgary for the first time since a 36-21 victory July 5, 2013. Big-play wide receiver Duron Carter, who leads the league with eight touchdown receptions, caught one pass for five yards before spraining his ankle against Hamilton and will be a game-time decision as will be offensive lineman Brendon LaBatte after he suffered an ankle injury last weekend. "I know that structurally everything is OK," Carter told reporters. "It's more about dealing with the pain and inflammation so we'll see how the rest of the week goes."

EXTRA POINTS

1. Calgary has won 15 straight games against West Division rivals.

2. Saskatchewan DB Ed Gainey has eight interceptions in his last five contests.

3. Singleton leads the CFL with 91 tackles.

PREDICTION: Roughriders 30, Stampeders 27
