No. 4 Oregon 48, Wyoming 14: Marcus Mariota passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more as the Ducks routed the visiting Cowboys.
Mariota was 19-of-23 for 221 yards and rushed for 71 more on five carries for Oregon (3-0). Byron Marshall added 80 yards and a rushing score on six carries.
Colby Kirkegaard passed for 284 and two touchdowns but was also intercepted twice for Wyoming (2-1). Shaun Wick rushed for 122 yards and D.J. May had four receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown.
The Cowboys took a 7-0 lead on Kirkegaard’s 18-yard pass to Tanner Gentry before the Ducks rattled off the next 41 points. Mariota’s 15-yard score early in the second quarter tied the game and Marshall’s 30-yard scamper put Oregon in the lead with 10:45 left in the second quarter.
Mariota scored on a 19-yard run and connected with Devon Allen on a 16-yard scoring play as the Ducks took a 27-7 halftime lead. Royce Freeman’s 12-yard touchdown run early in the second half continued the assault.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Ducks S Erick Dargan intercepted two passes to raise his career count to nine. … Wyoming tried to keep Oregon off the field by controlling the ball for 37 minutes, 38 seconds but the Ducks still finished with 556 yards and 32 first downs. … Mariota raised his career passing yardage total to 7,148, making him the fourth player in Oregon history to top 7,000.
