No. 14 Texas A&M 29, No. 1 Alabama 24: Deshazor Everett intercepted an A.J. McCarron pass on the goal line with 1:36 left and Johnny Manziel rolled up 345 total yards and passed for two touchdowns as the visiting Aggies handed the Crimson Tide their first loss.
The Aggies (8-2, 5-2 SEC) jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter as Christine Michael scored on a pair of 1-yard runs sandwiched around Manziel's 10-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Swope. Manziel was 24-of-31 for 253 yards and added 92 rushing yards on 18 carries.
The Crimson Tide (9-1, 6-1) roared back to pull within 20-17 on Jeremy Shelley's 28-yard field goal with 4:56 left in the third quarter, but Alabama didn't get any closer.
After Texas A&M stretched the lead to 29-17, McCarron connected with Amari Cooper for a 54-yard touchdown pass and drove the Crimson Tide inside the 10 again before Everett jumped in front of a fourth-down pass at the goal line to prevent the host Crimson Tide from a second consecutive fourth-quarter comeback. McCarron led Alabama to a winning touchdown in the final minute of a 21-17 victory over LSU last week.
Alabama's hopes of a final shot to rally vanished when Tyler Hayes jumped offsides before a Texas A&M punt to give the Aggies a first down and allow them to run out the clock.
