Texans 27, Jaguars 7: Arian Foster rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown while Ben Tate ran for a pair of scores as visiting Houston extended its winning streak against Jacksonville to four games.
Matt Schaub completed 26 of 35 passes for 195 yards for the Texans (2-0), who prevented the Jaguars (0-2) from winning a third straight home opener.
After Shayne Graham opened the scoring with a 31-yard field goal, Foster scored on a 1-yard run with 15 seconds remaining in the first quarter to make it 10-0. Tate, who gained 74 yards on 12 carries, increased the lead with an 8-yard TD rush in the second and added a 2-yard score with 2 1/2 minutes left in the third for a 24-7 advantage.
Blaine Gabbert connected with Maurice Jones-Drew on a 5-yard pass early in the third for Jacksonville's lone touchdown. Gabbert, who was 7 of 19 for 53 yards, left the game in the fourth with a leg injury.
Jones-Drew had 12 carries for 60 yards and matched Laurent Robinson for the team lead with three receptions.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Foster now has 3,286 career rushing yards, giving him possession of first place on the franchise list. Foster entered needing 20 yards to surpass Domanick Williams for the top spot. ... Jones-Drew still needs one rushing touchdown to pass Fred Taylor (62) for first on Jacksonville's all-time list. ... Schaub failed to throw a TD pass, leaving him stuck on 99 for his career.
