Redskins 19, Titans 17: Kai Forbath kicked a career-high four field goals, including a 22-yarder as time expired, as host Washington snapped a four-game losing streak.
The Redskins (2-5) benched Kirk Cousins at halftime in favor of Colt McCoy, who went 11-of-12 for 128 yards with a touchdown to hand the Titans (2-5) their fifth loss in six games. Cousins, who started in place of Robert Griffin III, was 10-of-16 for 139 yards with an interception.
Tennessee's Charlie Whitehurst finished 17-of-26 for 160 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Kendall Wright caught a first-half TD pass for the Titans and Derek Hagan caught the go-ahead score with 7:41 to play in the contest.
Tennessee trailed 16-10 until Hagan got open behind the defense and Whitehurst found him for what appeared to be the decisive score. Washington went three-and-out on its next possession but got the ball back with just over three minutes left, and McCoy completed five passes with the help of a 22-yard pass interference penalty on Tennessee before Forbath kicked the game-winner.
The Titans led 10-6 at halftime thanks to a 14-yard TD pass from Whitehurst to Wright with 1:04 left in the second quarter. The Redskins regained the lead early in the third quarter on McCoy's short pass to Pierre Garcon, who took it 70 yards to the end zone to put the hosts ahead 13-10.
