Texans 30, Titans 16: Arian Foster ran 20 times for 151 yards and scored three touchdowns to help lift visiting Houston back to .500.
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 19-of-35 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown to Foster as the Texans (4-4) matched their best scoring output of the season to snap a three-game losing streak. DeAndre Hopkins had five catches for 95 yards and Andre Johnson added seven grabs for 55 yards, moving past Hall of Famer Andre Reed and into 13th place on the all-time receiving yards list.
Rookie Zach Mettenberger threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns with one interception and one lost fumble in his first career start for Tennessee (2-6), which managed just 13 first downs and was 2-of-12 on third-down conversions. Bishop Sankey had only 35 yards to lead a woeful rushing attack as the Titans were outgained on the ground by a 212-36 margin.
Foster reversed his field and slipped a tackle in the backfield before rumbling 34 yards for a touchdown to snap a 3-3 tie with six minutes left in the second quarter. Randy Bullock's second field goal of the half came with 20 ticks remaining to give Houston a 13-3 lead at the break.
J.J. Watt sacked Mettenberger on the third play of the second half and forced a fumble that led to Fitzpatrick's 5-yard TD pass to Foster, who also finished a 98-yard drive later in the third with a 1-yard TD plunge to make it 27-3. Mettenberger's first career scoring pass went to a wide-open Delanie Walker moments later and his second to Justin Hunter in the final minute, but the Texans had plenty of cushion to defeat Tennessee for the fourth time in the past five meetings.
