Eagles 31, Texans 21: Jeremy Maclin caught six passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns as visiting Philadelphia held off Houston.
Mark Sanchez played the final three quarters after Nick Foles suffered a broken left clavicle and went 15-of-22 for 202 yards with two interceptions and a pair of touchdowns - including a late score to Maclin, who now has 18 catches for 345 yards and four scores in his last two games. The Eagles (6-2) got solid production out of all three running backs with LeSean McCoy running for 117 yards, Darren Sproles adding 63 total yards on seven touches and Chris Polk rushing eight times for 50 yards and a score.
Ryan Fitzpatrick passed for 203 yards and two touchdowns with one interception while DeAndre Hopkins reeled in six passes for 115 yards and a score for the Texans (4-5). Arian Foster, who had run for 100-plus yards in each of his previous four games, was limited to 56 on 15 carries before exiting with a groin injury.
The turning point in the game came late in the third quarter, when Houston's Randy Bullock missed a potential game-tying 39-yard field goal and Philadelphia promptly answered with a 70-yard drive during which they ran the ball on all four plays, the last being Polk's thundering 8-yard TD. Houston got within 24-21 on Fitzpatrick's 7-yard scoring strike to Hopkins with 11:51 remaining, but the Eagles held the ball for the next 8:01 - their longest drive under coach Chip Kelly - with Sanchez's 8-yard TD pass to Maclin essentially ending the drama.
The Eagles used a pair of first-half touchdown passes - Foles' 59-yard bomb to Maclin and Sanchez's 11-yard strike to Jordan Matthews - to take a 17-14 lead into the break. The Texans scored a pair of long touchdowns in the first half as A.J. Bouye scored on a 51-yard interception return in the opening quarter and Foster had a 56-yard catch-and-run late in the second before Cody Parkey kicked a 45-yard field goal as time expired.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Foles (10-of-13, 124 yards, TD, INT) was injured on a sack by Whitney Mercilus on the final play of the first quarter. While he went for X-rays on his non-throwing shoulder, Sanchez came on and found Maclin for a 52-yard bomb on his first play since December 2012. Foles is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. ... McCoy passed Brian Westbrook for second place on the Eagles' all-time rushing list. ... The Texans played without LBs Brian Cushing and Jadeveon Clowney and lost their starting cornerbacks, Johnathan Joseph (concussion) and Kareem Jackson (knee) to first-half injuries. Eagles LB DeMeco Ryans, a former Texans Pro Bowler, was carted off with a torn Achilles' tendon in the second half.
