Seahawks 27, Buccaneers 24 (OT): Steven Hauschka kicked a 27-yard field goal in overtime as host Seattle overcame a 21-point deficit for the first time in franchise history to keep the Buccaneers winless.
Marshawn Lynch rushed for 44 of his season-high 125 yards on the overtime possession and Russell Wilson passed for two touchdowns and added one on the ground as the Seahawks improved to 8-1 for the first time in team annals. Tampa Bay (0-8) and idle Jacksonville are the lone remaining winless teams.
Mike James rushed for a career-high 158 yards and also threw a touchdown pass for the Buccaneers. Mike Glennon threw two second-quarter touchdown passes as Tampa Bay jumped out to a 21-0 advantage before wilting.
Seattle trailed 24-7 in the third quarter before scoring 17 consecutive points to tie it. Wilson scored on a 10-yard run with five minutes left in the third quarter, Hauschka kicked a 36-yard field 13 seconds into the final quarter and Wilson connected with Doug Baldwin on the tying 10-yard score with 1:51 remaining.
Glennon hit Timothy Wright for a 12-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter and the Buccaneers added two scores in a 39-second span to jump out to a 21-0 lead. Tiquan Underwood caught a 20-yard touchdown and, after Seattle’s Jermaine Kearse fumbled away the ensuing kickoff, the Bucs recovered and scored on James’ 2-yard jump pass to Tom Crabtree with 2:16 left in the half.
GAME NOTEBOOK: James, a rookie, made his second start since replacing injured RB Doug Martin (shoulder) as the primary ball-carrier. … Wilson threw two interceptions, including one that Buccaneers S Keith Tandy intercepted at the goal-line midway through the fourth quarter. … Lynch leads the NFL with 18 100-yard games since the start of the 2011 season.
