Miami (6-5) opened the third quarter with a five-play, 72-yard drive capped by a 57-yard touchdown pass from Henne to Marlon Moore to take a 20-14 lead.
A 44-yard field goal by Dan Carpenter after the Dolphins held the Raiders without a first down on their next possession extended Miami’s lead to 23-14 with 8:51 remaining in the third quarter.
Following a 30-yard field goal by Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski with 10:57 left, Carpenter capped a 13-play drive with a 25-yard field goal.
Oakland's next drive ended at its own 46 when a pass from Gradkowski fell incomplete, and the Dolphins sealed the victory two plays later when Williams broke free for a 45-yard touchdown to make it 33-17 with 3:12 to play.
