Colts 20, Bills 13: T.Y. Hilton ran a punt back 75 yards for a touchdown and added a receiving score as host Indianapolis bounced back against Buffalo.
Andrew Luck went 20-of-37 for 240 yards, one touchdown and one interception and Reggie Wayne caught eight passes for 102 yards for the Colts (7-4), who improved to 5-1 at home and stayed in strong position for an AFC wild card berth.
Hilton got things rolling with 9:56 left in the first quarter, when the rookie broke through the middle and cut to the right before out running the defense for his first career return TD. Adam Vinatieri added a pair of short field goals to push it to 13-6 at the half.
Luck put together a 15-play, 82-yard drive in the third quarter, converting three third downs to keep the chains moving before finding Hilton over the middle for an 8-yard score and a 20-6 lead.
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 17 of 33 passes for 180 yards and hit Lee Smith with a 1-yard touchdown pass with 11:30 left in the game but could not close the gap. C.J. Spiller rushed for 107 yards on 14 carries for the Bills (4-7).
GAME NOTEBOOK: Fred Jackson (concussion) played for Buffalo but only had six carries for 16 yards and one 8-yard catch. … Stevie Johnson led the Bills receiving corps with six catches for 106 yards. … Colts coach Chuck Pagano, who is receiving treatment for leukemia, watched the game from the owner’s box.
