Texans 25, Ravens 13: Arian Foster rushed for 96 yards and threw a touchdown pass as Houston stunned visiting Baltimore.
Case Keenum was signed on Monday, beat out Thad Lewis in practice for the starting job at quarterback and ended up 20-of-42 for 185 yards with an interception to earn his first career win for the Texans (8-7). Andre Johnson (concussion) returned from a one-game absence and caught six passes for 65 yards while Randy Bullock was perfect on a franchise-record six field-goal attempts for Houston.
Joe Flacco struggled to 21-of-50 for 195 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted three times as the Ravens (9-6) dropped out of a wild-card position in the AFC. Torrey Smith hauled in both TD passes, but Justin Forsett was limited to 19 yards on 10 carries as Baltimore's offense struggled.
The Texans stalled in the red zone and settled for three field goals before Foster took a pitch and ran to his right, pulled up and lofted a 5-yard pass off his back foot to tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz in the end zone for a 16-0 lead at the half. Jacoby Jones returned a punt 45 yards to set up the Ravens' offense for its first score early in the third quarter – an 8-yard TD toss to Smith.
Flacco’s next pass was intercepted and Bullock’s 20-yard field goal made it 19-7, and two more kicks in the fourth quarter extended the lead to 18. Flacco finally put together a long drive and hit Smith again for a 20-yard TD pass but was sacked on the two-point conversion attempt and again by J.J. Watt on fourth down before Houston closed it out.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Keenum improved to 1-8 as the Texans' starter in his career. ... Ravens RT Rick Wagner (foot) was carted to the locker room in the third quarter and did not return. … Baltimore totaled 31 yards on offense in the first half and finished with 211 while going 4-for-17 on third and fourth down. … Watt’s sack gave him 17.5 on the season and 54 in his career, passing Mario Williams (53) for the most in franchise history.
