Colts 17, Texans 10: Andrew Luck passed for 187 yards and two touchdowns as host Indianapolis clinched the AFC South.
Hakeem Nicks and Dwayne Allen each caught a touchdown pass as the Colts (10-4) recorded their 13th consecutive home win over the Texans. Vontae Davis sealed the victory with an interception with 1:28 remaining.
Houston (7-7) lost quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a season-ending broken left leg in the second quarter and rookie replacement Tom Savage went 10-of-19 for 127 yards. Arian Foster rushed for 99 yards on 26 carries and J.J. Watt recorded two sacks to raise his season output to 16.5.
The Texans pulled within 14-10 when Randy Bullock kicked a 53-yard field goal 80 seconds into the final quarter. The Colts tacked on Adam Vinatieri’s 29-yard kick with 2:11 to play, and Houston’s final gasp was extinguished when Davis picked off Savage’s fourth-down throw.
The Texans struck first when Kendrick Lewis intercepted Luck and returned it 27 yards for a score with 5:56 left in the opening quarter. Luck bounced back with two second-quarter touchdown passes – a 26-yarder to Nicks and a 3-yarder to Allen – as Indianapolis took a 14-7 lead.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Texans WR Andre Johnson (concussion) was inactive and remains four catches shy of 1,000 for his career. … Vinatieri has made 34 consecutive field goals. … Watt has seven sacks over the last three games and the multiple-sack performance was the 14th of his four-year career.
