The Chicago Bears have struggled to regain their footing even since their last-second field goal attempt caromed off both the left upright and the crossbar in last season's wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears aim to rebound from yet another costly missed field goal in their most recent contest when they visit the Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

Cody Parkey's double-doink misfire in the season-ending 16-15 setback to Philadelphia in January led Chicago to bring in Eddy Pineiro, who saw his 41-yard field goal attempt go awry in the waning moments in Sunday's 17-16 setback to the Los Angeles Chargers. "We understand everything that just went on in this past game and he knows that we know it. For us, we've moved on," Bears coach Matt Nagy said. While Chicago attempts to snap a three-game losing skid, Philadelphia answered being outscored 75-30 in losses at Dallas and Minnesota by rushing for three touchdowns in a 31-13 victory over Buffalo on Sunday. Former Bears running back Jordan Howard recorded seasons highs in carries (23) and yards (96) versus the Bills while finding the end zone for the sixth time (five rushing, one receiving) in the last six games.

ABOUT THE BEARS (3-4): Chicago's ever-present kicking woes briefly put Mitchell Trubisky's troubles on the back burner, although the much-maligned quarterback threw for 303 yards and a touchdown pass against Philadelphia on Jan. 6. Trubisky turned the keys over to rookie David Montgomery last week, as the third-round pick out of Iowa State posted season highs in carries (27) and rushing yards (135) while also rushing for a touchdown. The 22-year-old Montgomery picked up 10 first downs on the ground for the Bears, who are near the basement of the league in rushing yards per game (26th), yards per rush (27th) and rushing touchdowns (tied for 25th). Allen Robinson reeled in at least five receptions for the fifth consecutive contest on Sunday and faces an Eagles' secondary that he torched for 10 catches, 143 yards and a touchdown in the wild-card game.

ABOUT THE EAGLES (4-4): Howard rushed for 3,370 yards and 24 touchdowns during his first three seasons with Chicago before being traded to Philadelphia for a conditional sixth-round pick. "Sometimes, I think -- maybe he didn't fit their structure of what (Bears coach Matt Nagy) was trying to do -- but I don't really want to comment or speculate on that," Eagles coach Doug Pederson said. "I just know we got a great player. And we've benefited from that (trade) obviously." Carson Wentz kept pace with Seattle's Russell Wilson by tossing a touchdown pass in his 11th consecutive contest on Sunday when he connected with tight end Dallas Goedert late in the second quarter. Alshon Jeffery, who led the way in receptions (four) and receiving yards (64) against the Bills, found the end zone in the wild-card game versus his former team.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Chicago LB Khalil Mack, who leads the team with 5.5 sacks, did not register one in the wild-card game versus Philadelphia.

2. Eagles rookie RB Miles Sanders (shoulder) was limited in practice on Thursday, but LT Jason Peters (knee) and LB Nigel Bradham (ankle) are trending toward sitting out versus the Bears.

3. Chicago TE Trey Burton, who threw the "Philly Special" touchdown pass in Super Bowl LII, has yet to eclipse 20 yards receiving in six games this season.
