Last Meeting ( Sep 24, 2017 ) Denver 16, Buffalo 26

The Buffalo Bills are in position to make a run at a playoff spot in the AFC but are facing a tough schedule down the stretch and need to make the most of their opportunities at home. The Bills will try to improve their standing and avoid a letdown at home when they host the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Buffalo still has games at Dallas, home against Baltimore, at Pittsburgh and at New England on the schedule but feels confident that it has found a successful formula. "We're going to continue to roll with what we've been doing," Bills quarterback Josh Allen told reporters. "At the end of the day, it comes down to 11 versus 11 on the field. ... How physical we are, how bad we want it versus how bad they want it and that's what it comes down to. We've got to go out there, we've got to take it. For the rest of the schedule, nothing is going to be handed to us and we've got to try to find some wins." The Broncos looked to be on the verge of a second straight victory last week before squandering a 20-point cushion and suffering a 27-23 setback at Minnesota. "We've got to learn how to finish as a team, especially defensively, finish a lot better, how to close out games better for our team," cornerback Chris Harris Jr. told reporters. "It's just a learning process and we're going through that this season. It's definitively not what we planned on happening, but it's something that I think guys are getting better and younger guys are getting better each week."

TV: 1 p.m. ET, CBS. LINE: Bills -4. O/U: 38

ABOUT THE BRONCOS (3-7): Denver was able to race out to a big halftime lead in Minnesota thanks in large part to the play of wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who hauled in five catches for 113 yards and added a 38-yard completion when given the opportunity to throw a pass. "Courtland's tough to handle, and we thought we could get some balls to him in this game up the field and we did," Broncos coach Vic Fangio told reporters. "They gave him a lot of attention, too, but he's a great player for us and (proved again) he's one that we can build around." Sutton is working with backup quarterback Brandon Allen, who is completing 49.2 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and one interception in two starts.

ABOUT THE BILLS (7-3): Allen was named the AFC's offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns and adding 56 yards and a score on the ground in last week's 37-20 drubbing of the Miami Dolphins. "I don't really care about the individual accolades," Allen told reporters. "I do believe this is a team award. It takes 10 other guys on the football field for something like this to happen and I applaud our guys for how they played on Sunday. Ultimately we got to (win) number seven and we're focused on trying to get to number eight." Allen's favorite target last week was wide receiver John Brown, who hauled in nine catches for 137 yards and two TDs - matching his total number of TD receptions from the first nine games.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Broncos OL Dalton Risner (ankle), Connor McGovern (back) and Ron Leary (shoulder/neck) were all held out of practice on Wednesday but are expected to play this week.

2. Bills S Siran Neal (concussion) is questionable for Sunday while T Ty Nsekhe (ankle) is considered week-to-week.

3. Denver signed TE Orson Charles on Tuesday and placed FB Andy Janovich on IR.

PREDICTION: Bills 20, Broncos 13
