Tampa Bay @ Jacksonville preview

TIAA Bank Field

Last Meeting ( Aug 30, 2018 ) Jacksonville 25, Tampa Bay 10

Life with Jameis Winston is like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates - ''you never know what you're gonna get'' - as the Tampa Bay quarterback continues to be effective one minute and a turnover machine the next. The Buccaneers hope the Winston who takes care of the ball shows up Sunday when they visit the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars.

Winston has 22 touchdowns this season and eight of his NFL-worst 20 interceptions in the last three weeks after throwing for three scores and two picks in a 35-22 victory at Atlanta on Nov. 24, and his six straight 300-yard passing games are a franchise record. “When you let it go, have a reason and make sure you’re throwing it to our guys,” Tampa Bay coach Bruce Arians said during a teleconference. “But I don’t want him thinking about it. Some (turnovers) are his fault, some are the guys around him who need to play better.'' Jacksonville has lost three straight by a combined 101-36 after a 42-20 drubbing at Tennessee last week. "Am I embarrassed? Yes I am that,'' Jaguars coach Doug Marrone told reporters. "... But I promised them that I am going to do a better job, and I'm going to work my butt off to get this thing right."

TV: 1 p.m. ET, FOX. LINE: Jaguars -1. O/U: 48.5

ABOUT THE BUCCANEERS (4-7): Winston had two of the league's 1,000-yard receivers entering Week 13 at his disposal in Chris Godwin (1,071 yards) and Mike Evans (1,043), who have combined for 16 touchdown catches and Evans joined Randy Moss (1998-2003) last week as the only players with six 1,000-yard seasons to start his career. Linebacker Shaquil Barrett is tied for the NFL lead in sacks (12.5) with Arizona's Chandler Jones after recording one while forcing a fumble against Atlanta. Running back Ronald Jones II has recorded three of his five rushing TDs this season in the last four games.

ABOUT THE JAGUARS (4-7): Running back Leonard Fournette (three touchdowns) needs 49 yards to record his second 1,000-yard rushing season in three years after an injury-plagued 2018 limited him to eight games. Wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. paces the team with 56 catches, 834 yards and eight TDs while wide receiver Dede Westbrook collected a season-high eight catches last week. Defensive end/linebacker Josh Allen has eight sacks - tied for the most among NFL rookies with San Francisco's Nick Bosa

EXTRA POINTS

1. Tampa Bay allows 30.5 points per game with only Miami (31.5) yielding more.

2. Jacksonville was 11th in total yards entering Week 13 with 370.1 per game but seventh-worst in scoring with an average of 19 points.

3. The Buccaneers won the last meeting 38-31 in 2015 with Winston throwing a touchdown pass in his fifth career game.

PREDICTION: Buccaneers 27, Jaguars 21
