Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are piling up goals and points at a league-leading pace but even Edmonton's two-man show is capable of throwing in a clunker once in a while. The dynamic duo will try to bounce back from a combined minus-5 performance when the Oilers continue their five-game road trip through the western United States against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.

McDavid and Draisaitl have each recorded 16 goals and an NHL-most 44 points while accounting for an eye-popping 42.1 percent of Edmonton's goals and points. "It seems like we win games and play really well, and when we lose, it's not even close,'' McDavid told reporters after Thursday's 5-1 loss at Los Angeles. "So we've got to find a way to find that consistent play." Vegas fell to 2-0-1 on its four-game homestand with a 2-1 overtime loss to San Jose on Thursday after outscoring Calgary and Toronto by a combined 10-2. The Golden Knights won three of four meetings last season with Jonathan Marchessault scoring five times and William Karlsson providing two goals and six points.

ABOUT THE OILERS (14-7-3): McDavid (plus-4 overall) scored Thursday to extend his point streak to nine games (10 goals, 11 assists). Draisaitl (plus-5) was kept off the scoresheet, snapping a 13-game point streak during which he had 10 goals and 18 assists. James Neal has scored only two of his 13 goals in 10 November games and is a club-worst minus-12.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS (11-9-4): Marchessault had a six-game point streak snapped Thursday while Max Pacioretty failed to hit the scoresheet after recording two goals and four assists in his previous three contests. Paul Stastny (698 points in 898 games) has scored only once in 10 November games after tallying five in October. Mark Stone and Reilly Smith pace the team with 10 goals apiece while Karlsson has a club-high 23 points but none in the past two games after recording seven (four goals) in the previous three.

OVERTIME

1. Edmonton boasts the league's top power play with Neal (nine) and McDavid (seven) accounting for 16 of the 22 goals while Draisaitl has only one.

2. Vegas is 0-4 in overtime this season as part of a 3-4-4 stretch since winning eight of its first 13 games.

3. The Oilers have killed 26-of-27 penalties in their last seven games and was second in the league entering Friday while the Golden Knights sat fourth.
