Last Meeting ( Oct 29, 2019 ) Winnipeg 4, Anaheim 7

November has been good for the Winnipeg Jets, who travel to Anaheim to meet the Ducks on Friday sporting a 9-2-1 record this month after kicking off a three-game road trip with a 5-1 victory Wednesday at San Jose. Forward Patrik Laine recorded his second three-point effort in his past six contests with a goal and two assists, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 shots to stay hot as the Jets scored five unanswered goals to win for the fifth time in their past six contests.

“We played well,” Jets captain Blake Wheeler told reporters after recording two assists against San Jose. “We were on pucks, quick sticks, moving our feet and we were able to make some plays.” The month has not been as kind to the Ducks, who are 3-5-4 in November following Wednesday’s 4-3 shootout loss at Arizona. Cam Fowler recorded two assists and John Gibson made 25 saves in goal for Anaheim, which dropped to 2-2-2 in its past six games and plays five of its next seven at home. “No frustration at all,” Ducks coach Dallas Eakins told the media postgame. “I thought our guys played a real solid game, and we’ll try to build off it.”

TV: 4 p.m. ET, TSN3 (Winnipeg), Prime Ticket (Anaheim)

ABOUT THE JETS (15-9-1): Hellebuyck has been outstanding of late, going 6-2-0 in his past eight games with a .931 save percentage, and on the season is tied for the NHL lead with 12 wins while ranking sixth in save percentage (.930) and eighth in goals against average (2.34). Forward Kyle Connor finished with a goal and an assist and was plus-4, giving him seven points in his past six games. After allowing three power-play goals Saturday against Columbus, Winnipeg killed all six San Jose power-play opportunities.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (11-11-4): Center Ryan Getzlaf extended his point streak to six games with an assist, giving him eight points (six assists) in that span and 15 (six goals) in his past 15 contests. Getzlaf assisted on defenseman Brendan Guhle’s first NHL goal in the first period for Anaheim, which outshot Arizona 34-28 but finished 0-for-3 on the power play. Gibson dropped to 2-4-2 in his past eight games, and has allowed 27 goals in that span.

OVERTIME

1. Fowler’s two assists gave him six points (five assists) in his past four games.

2. Jets D Josh Morrissey, who left Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury, played more than 20 minutes Wednesday and finished plus-3.

3. Ducks F Carter Rowney scored twice while Fowler and Getzlaf each recorded a goal and an assist as Anaheim posted a 7-4 home victory over the Jets on Oct. 29.

PREDICTION: Jets 5, Ducks 2
