Last Meeting ( Nov 8, 2018 ) Arizona 4, Philadelphia 5

The Arizona Coyotes have fashioned themselves as one of the tougher road foes in the league. Fresh off winning the opener of a four-game trek, the Coyotes could face an uphill challenge on Wednesday when they tangle with a Philadelphia Flyers team that is in the midst of an 11-game home point streak (7-0-4).

Arizona is enjoying quite a significant run of its own, improving to 7-1-2 in its last 10 road games and 9-3-3 on the season following Tuesday's 4-2 victory over Columbus. "We don't really know. I think we simplify our game maybe a little bit and maybe that's the reason," Carl Soderberg told The Athletic of the Coyotes' success away from Gila River Arena. Philadelphia has plenty of reasons for its success of late, with the club extending its season-high winning streak to five games after erupting for five goals in the third period of Tuesday's 6-1 romp over Toronto. "Everyone is going right now," Flyers forward Travis Konecny said after recording eight (two goals, six assists) of his team-leading 27 points over the last eight games. "Everyone has found their legs. Even if one line is down for a bit, the next one picks them up and we just cycle through and keep on going."

TV: 7 p.m. ET, FS Arizona-Plus, NBCS Philadelphia

ABOUT THE COYOTES (16-9-4): Arizona acquired Phil Kessel as a means to jump-start its offense, but the six-time 30-goal scorer has tallied four times this season and just once in the last 16 games. Kessel had three assists in four meetings with Philadelphia while playing for cross-state rival Pittsburgh last season to boost his point total to 31 (nine goals, 22 assists) in 47 career encounters versus the club. Captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in two meetings against the Flyers in 2018-19.

ABOUT THE FLYERS (16-7-5): Philadelphia recalled Misha Vorobyev from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League for the third time this season and fifth time in two years on Wednesday and placed fellow forward Michael Raffl on long-term injured reserve with a broken finger. "It definitely (stinks) to lose (Raffl) on the ice, but off the ice, as well," forward Scott Laughton said. "He's huge for this group, for the young guys." Vorobyev has collected 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 19 games with the Phantoms.

OVERTIME

1. Philadelphia C Sean Couturier, who was born in Phoenix, collected a goal and two assists in two encounters with Arizona last season.

2. Coyotes C Clayton Keller scored on Tuesday to record his fourth point in his last six games (one goal, three assists) after mustering just five in his previous 13 games.

3. Flyers G Brian Elliott sports a 10-2-1 record with two shutouts, a 2.13 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 15 appearances (13 starts) versus Arizona.
