Last Meeting ( Dec 14, 2019 ) Toronto 4, Edmonton 1

The Toronto Maple Leafs began to turn around their season with one decisive performance against the Edmonton Oilers last month, igniting a stretch of nine wins during an impressive 10-game point streak. The Maple Leafs aim to continue their strong play on Monday when they bid for a season sweep of the Oilers in Toronto.

Mitch Marner scored a power-play goal late in the third period in the Maple Leafs' 4-1 victory over Edmonton on Dec. 14 and enters Monday's tilt on a four-game point streak (one goal, four assists). The 22-year-old recorded his 11th multi-point performance of the season after setting up a pair of goals in Saturday's 3-0 win over the New York Islanders, boosting his team-leading total in assists to 29 - with 21 coming on home ice. Edmonton also has reversed course following a tough stretch (2-7-1), securing at least a point in its third consecutive contest (2-0-1) following Saturday afternoon's 4-1 victory in Boston. "We've got to keep playing the way we have to see if we can get the same results," Oilers coach Dave Tippett said of facing Toronto in the third contest of a five-game road trip.

McDavid was held off the scoresheet in that encounter, however the 22-year-old Ontario native had 11 points (four goals, seven assists) over the seven previous meetings with the Maple Leafs.
