Buffalo @ Dallas preview
American Airlines Center
Last Meeting ( Oct 14, 2019 ) Dallas 0, Buffalo 4
The Buffalo Sabres put a halt to a six-game losing streak on the road with a pronounced victory earlier this week. The Sabres look to record consecutive wins outside of western New York for just the second time this season when they visit the Dallas Stars on Thursday.
Buffalo followed up a convincing 5-1 triumph in Detroit on Sunday with a 4-2 victory versus Vegas two nights later, with captain Jack Eichel finding the scoresheet in both outings to extend his point streak to eight games (four goals, six assists). "You can't hold on to your mistakes and obviously you can't ride your wins too much," said the 23-year-old Eichel, who set up a pair of goals in the Sabres' 4-0 win against Dallas on Oct. 14. Ben Bishop yielded all four tallies in that contest to fall to 12-1-1 with three shutouts, a 1.55 goals-against average and .943 save percentage in 14 career meetings with Buffalo. The 33-year-old is slated to play in his 400th NHL game after turning aside 140 of 146 shots during a four-game winning streak, including 41 of 43 in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory versus Colorado.

ABOUT THE SABRES (21-19-7): Sam Reinhart scored in the first encounter with the Stars and recorded his 11th multi-point performance of the season with a goal and two assists on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has scored four goals and set up as many in six games this month, with four of those points (three goals, one assist) coming on the power play. Reinhart has helped Buffalo go 6-for-14 with the man advantage in its last five games.
ABOUT THE STARS (27-15-4): Roope Hintz, who leads the team with 15 goals, set up Denis Gurianov's power-play tally on Tuesday to boost his point total to eight (three goals, five assists) over his last eight games. Gurianov's goal was his 11th of the season, with eight being recorded on home ice to help Dallas post a 15-6-2 record at American Airlines Center. The 22-year-old Russian is tied with Tyler Seguin and captain Jamie Benn for the third-most goals on the team, with Alexander Radulov (13) scoring four in his last nine games.
