Last Meeting ( Jan 15, 2019 ) New Jersey 1, Columbus 4

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been wildly successful on the road this season (19-10-1), and coach John Tortorella and company hope that track record continues on Tuesday when they open a two-game trek against the New Jersey Devils. The Blue Jackets, who have lost three of their last four overall, are set to embark on a stretch of playing 11 of their last 17 contests away from home.

"We're not going to panic. We're not going to worry. We just have to find a way to get that next win," Columbus captain Nick Foligno said on Monday, one day after he scored in a 5-2 setback to Winnipeg. Foligno also tallied in a 2-1 home win over New Jersey on Dec. 20, however, just two of his 16 goals this season have come on the road. Offense has been an issue for the Devils regardless of venue, with the injury-ravaged club having recorded just eight goals in its last five games (1-4-0) after dropping a 1-0 setback to Boston on Saturday. Cory Schneider, who will get the nod versus the Blue Jackets, answered a sterling stretch in which he yielded just one goal in three appearances by surrendering 10 over his last three starts (1-2-0).

TV: 7 p.m. ET, FS Ohio (Columbus), MSG-Plus2 (New Jersey)

ABOUT THE BLUE JACKETS (36-23-3): Cam Atkinson set up Foligno's goal midway into the first period against the Jets to boost his point total to five (three goals, two assists) in his last six contests. The 29-year-old's team-leading 35 goals this season have matched his 2016-17 total, and he stands a good chance to set a career high on Tuesday versus a New Jersey club that he has score against in all three encounters in 2018-19. Artemi Panarin, who has scored two goals and set up two others versus the Devils this season, lifted his club-best totals in assists (48) and points (73) with two of each on Sunday.

ABOUT THE DEVILS (25-33-8): Injuries have been the unfortunate name of the game for New Jersey, which appears challenged to be able to put a full squad on the ice. Former top overall pick Nico Hischier, who sustained an upper-body injury versus the Bruins, joined reigning Hart Trophy recipient Taylor Hall (knee), leading goal scorer Kyle Palmieri (lower body), Miles Wood (ankle), Pavel Zacha (upper body), John Quenneville (upper body), Nathan Bastian (undisclosed), Mirco Mueller (left shoulder) and Sami Vatanen (maintenance day) as non-participants in Monday's practice. Hischier, who leads the club with 27 assists, is considered day-to-day for Tuesday's tilt versus the Blue Jackets while Bastian has been ruled out.

OVERTIME

1. Columbus has won six in a row against New Jersey and nine of the last 10 meetings.

2. Devils C Travis Zajac is two points shy of 500 for his career.

3. Columbus D Zach Werenski, who has set up two goals versus New Jersey this season, has an assist in five of his last six games.

PREDICTION: Blue Jackets 4, Devils 1
