Minnesota @ Nashville preview
Bridgestone Arena
Last Meeting ( Mar 3, 2019 ) Nashville 3, Minnesota 2
After salvaging the finale of a three-game road trip, the Nashville Predators will look to complete a sweep of a home-and-home when they host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. The Predators halted a two-game slide with a 3-2 shootout win at Minnesota on Sunday for their third consecutive victory against their division rivals.
Nashville has turned into a version of Minnesota South after acquiring center Mikael Granlund at the trade deadline, marking the fourth former Wild player to join the Predators this season. Granlund said it was "awesome" to receive a video tribute in Minnesota on Sunday and now will make his home debut for Nashville, which is one point behind first-place Winnipeg, although the Jets have three games in hand. Despite Sunday's setback, the Wild rebounded from a five-game slide by earning points in six consecutive contests to move into a tie with Dallas for the top wild card in the Western Conference. "I think that lately every time we go on the ice we think we're going to win," Minnesota coach Bruce Boudreau said of his team's renewed confidence. "We don't think something bad is going to happen to us."

ABOUT THE WILD (32-27-7): Although backup Alex Stalock got the nod versus Nashville on Sunday, Devan Dubnyk is back in a groove and could get the start in all three games on the upcoming road trip. Dubnyk was dented for 13 goals while dropping three straight home games but he has turned things around and permitted nine tallies during a five-start winning streak. “It’s been really great to see,” Boudreau said of Dubnyk’s recent play. “When you can get the goaltending like that and allow two goals or less, you’re going to win most of your games."
ABOUT THE PREDATORS (38-25-5): Center Ryan Johansen, who tops Nashville with 54 points, has not scored a goal in 11 games but he continued to be a nemesis for the Wild, delivering the decisive tally in the shootout Sunday. Johansen has only one point in his last eight games overall but has notched a pair of goals and five assists in the last seven meetings with Minnesota. Linemate Filip Forsberg had only one goal in nine games before netting the equalizer late in Sunday's game, giving him 11 goals in 21 career matchups against Minnesota.
