Last Meeting ( Jan 13, 2019 ) Nashville 3, Carolina 6

The Nashville Predators have gone 3-3-0 over their last six games but easily could be winless as all three of their victories came in shootouts. Nashville looks to post its first regulation win since Feb. 21 - and third straight overall - and regain first place in the Central Division when it hosts the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

The Predators squandered a late lead on Tuesday before recording a 5-4 shootout victory over Minnesota as Ryan Johansen scored the lone goal of the bonus format in the fourth round. Viktor Arvidsson netted his team-leading 28th tally in regulation to draw within four of 100 for his career while captain Roman Josi is seven shy of the century mark after scoring against the Wild. Nashville enters Saturday's contest one point behind Central-leading Winnipeg, which ended Carolina's six-game point streak (5-0-1) with an 8-1 trouncing on Friday. Greg McKegg scored for the second time in three games for the Hurricanes, who occupy the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference as they remained two points behind Pittsburgh for third place in the Metropolitan Division.

ABOUT THE HURRICANES (36-24-7): Micheal Ferland was in the lineup against the Jets after exiting Tuesday's overtime loss in Boston with an upper-body injury. The 26-year-old left wing has been kept off the scoresheet in seven of his last eight contests. Sebastian Aho, who is one goal shy of reaching 30 for the first time in his career, had both his four-game goal-scoring streak and six-game point run come to an end Friday.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (39-25-5): Johansen leads the team with 54 points despite having been kept off the scoresheet in eight of his last nine contests. The 26-year-old center, who has gone 12 games without a goal, is four points shy of 400 in the NHL. Filip Forsberg tops the club with five power-play tallies but has registered just one goal over his last seven contests.

OVERTIME

1. Predators C Nick Bonino has scored just once in his last 17 contests.

2. Carolina D Calvin de Haan has notched an assist in back-to-back games, leaving him five points away from 100 for his career.

3. Arvidsson needs three goals to match the career high of 31 he scored in 2016-17.

PREDICTION: Predators 4, Hurricanes 1
