Last Meeting ( Feb 7, 2019 ) Vancouver 3, Chicago 4
The Chicago Blackhawks are making a spirited run for a postseason berth as they've recorded five consecutive victories after dropping four of five contests. They attempt to extend the streak and better their chances for the playoffs when they host the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.
Chicago sits five points behind Arizona for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference after registering a 2-0 triumph in Montreal on Saturday behind a 48-save performance by Corey Crawford. Alex DeBrincat helped set up both goals for the Blackhawks, giving him two goals and four assists during his four-game point streak while tying him with captain Jonathan Toews for second on the team in scoring (71 points). Vancouver kept alive its slim playoff hopes with Sunday's 3-2 shootout win in Dallas as it trails the Coyotes by eight points with 10 games remaining. The Canucks, who are riding a three-game point streak (2-0-1), took the lead on Tim Schaller's first two goals of the season but squandered it before Josh Leivo netted the lone tally of the bonus format in the fourth round.

ABOUT THE CANUCKS (30-32-10): Elias Pettersson notched an assist Sunday to increase his team-leading total to 60 points. The 20-year-old Swedish rookie has landed on the scoresheet in four of his last five games after going without a point in a season high-tying four straight contests. Schaller notched five assists in his first 37 games with Vancouver after recording career highs of 12 goals and 10 assists in 82 contests with Boston last season.
ABOUT THE BLACKHAWKS (32-30-9): Patrick Kane was kept off the scoresheet by the Canadiens, keeping him one point away from hitting triple digits for the second time in his career (league-leading 106 in 2015-16). The 30-year-old former Hart Trophy recipient, who needs five goals to match the personal best of 46 he scored during his Art Ross Trophy-winning season, ranks ninth on the franchise list for games played after passing Steve Larmer (891) on Saturday. Brendan Perlini has recorded five goals and two assists during his three-game point streak and has netted eight of his 11 tallies since being acquired from Arizona over his last seven contests.
