Vieira vs Kunitskaya betting preview

Ketlen "Fenomeno" Vieira is the No. 6 ranked women's bantamweight contender and is fresh off a unanimous decision victory over Sijara Eubanks last September. That win allowed her to bounce back from the only loss of her career, a first-round knockout at the hands of Irene Aldana.

Fenomeno is 11-1 in her MMA career, including 5-1 in the UFC. The 29-year-old has a background in BJJ and Judo, and prefers to take things to the mat where she can control the fight with her wrestling and grappling ability.

Yana "Foxy" Kunitskaya is coming off a decision win over Julija Stoliarenko in August and is No. 7 in the women's bantamweight rankings. The former interim champ in Invicta entered the UFC with high expectations, immediately getting a featherweight title shot against Cris Cyborg in 2018.

Foxy was starched in the first round of that fight, prompting a move back to the 135-pound division. The Russian is now 3-2 under the UFC banner with her other loss also coming by TKO, against Aspen Ladd 14 months ago. The 31-year-old is solid on her feet and on the mat but does her best work in the clinch where she can use her Muay Thai skills to damage opponents.

Vieira vs Kunitskaya UFC prediction and betting pick

PREDICTION: Vieira to win by points - Viera has holes in her distance striking which were exposed in that knockout loss to Aldana. Kunitskaya. however, doesn't have the hand speed of Aldana and prefers to fight up close in the clinch.

That should play right into the hands of Vieira who has some of the best wrestling in the division and won't be bullied like Stoliarenko was.

Even before Kunistskaya was knocked out by Ladd in the third round, she was taken down and controlled on the mat during the first two rounds. With Vieira averaging 2.21 takedowns per 15 minutes and a strong takedown accuracy of 57 percent, expect Fenomeno to take this fight to the mat where she excels.

Vieira should be able to grind out a win and with four of her five UFC victories coming by decision, consider the "Vieira to win by points" prop to get better value.
