The New York Liberty handled the Las Vegas Aces comfortably in Game 1 with an 87-77 victory, but the Aces look to even the series at Barclays Center tonight in Game 2.

Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu stole the show, but my Aces vs. Liberty predictions expect MVP A’ja Wilson to bounce back from a lackluster performance and lead her team on the road.

Read my WNBA picks to see why you should take the Over on Wilson’s combo prop in this must-win contest.

Aces vs Liberty predictions

My best bet
A’ja Wilson Over 33.5 points + rebounds (-114 at FanDuel)

My analysis

A'ja Wilson became just the second player in WNBA history to win a unanimous MVP following her dominant 2024 campaign. Wilson averaged 26.9 points and 11.9 rebounds and became the first player in league history to score at least 1,000 points in a single season. She can score and rebound with the best of them, but her Game 1 performance didn’t reflect her regular-season dominance.

Wilson finished with just 21 points and six boards in Sunday’s loss to the New York Liberty, who made a concerted effort to slow her down. If the Las Vegas Aces drop Game 2, they will be forced to win three straight against the Association’s best team, and that’s a hole that Las Vegas does not want to be in. I expect Wilson to assert her dominance in this one with so much on the line, especially after a muted Game 1 showing.

Wilson hit the Over on this prop in 31 of 38 games played this season, but she hit the mark just once in four outings against the Liberty. Wilson averaged just 30.7 points + rebounds in her four matchups with New York, but I expect her to leave it all on the court tonight as she leads her team in this pivotal matchup. Given the stakes, I’m confidently taking the Over.

Aces vs Liberty same-game parlay (SGP)

A’ja Wilson Over 33.5 points + rebounds

Jonquel Jones Over 24.5 points + rebounds

Sabrina Ionescu Over 28.5 points + rebounds + assists

Jonquel Jones enjoyed another productive season, averaging 14.2 points and nine rebounds. She posted 23.2 points + rebounds per game and hit the Over in 18 of 39 appearances. Jones has hit the Over in two straight, going for 13 points and 12 rebounds in Sunday’s Game 1 victory.

Jones averaged 18 points and 11.3 rebounds in four matchups with the Aces this season and hit the Over in three of four. Las Vegas allowed the third-most rebounds in the regular season, and with so much defensive attention likely coming to Breanna Stewart, her frontcourt partner could see some extra opportunities.

Stewart went off for a monster 34/5/4 line in Game 1, and the Aces’ defensive game plan for Game 2 will surely be centered around stopping the electric forward. Stewart starred Sunday, but Ionescu had a solid 21/4/5 after dropping 36 points against the Dream to close out that first-round series.

Sabrina Ionescu has hit 11 triples across her last three games, and her hot long-range scoring will be critical against Las Vegas tonight. Expect her to continue scoring and facilitating at a high level as the Liberty look to go up 2-0. Ionescu averaged 28.6 PRAs in four matchups with Las Vegas and hit the Over in three of them.
