Two WNBA heavyweights are set to clash tonight when the Connecticut Sun play host to the Las Vegas Aces.

Las Vegas enters this one on a hot streak as the winner of three straight. While Connecticut boasts the best scoring defense in the league, our Aces vs. Sun predictions expect the Vegas offense to keep lighting it up in our WNBA picks for Friday, September 6.

Aces vs Sun predictions

My best bet
Aces -2 (-110 at FanDuel)

My analysis

The Las Vegas Aces seem to be hitting their stride with the playoffs just around the corner, as their 90-71 demolition of Chicago marked their fourth win in five games.

The Aces boast the best offense in the league, while also ranking first in pace. They score 87.3 points per game and shoot 45.6% from the field, both tops in the W. Perhaps even more impressive is their ability to limit mistakes, as their 11.8 turnovers per game are the fewest in the league.

That could be problematic for the Connecticut Sun, who average 18.8 points per game off turnovers. In their lone matchup so far this season, the Aces coughed up the ball just 12 times in an 85-74 win. Offensively, the Sun shot 42.6% from the field and missed nine of 25 free throws.

On the year, the Sun are the second-worst free-throw shooting team in the league at 75.2% and now face a red-hot Vegas team that has won in four of the last five head-to-heads. The Aces' offense will do enough to cover this small spread tonight.

Aces vs Sun same-game parlay (SGP)

Las Vegas moneyline

A'ja Wilson Under 27.5 points

DeWanna Bonner Under 15.5 points

Since 2022, A'ja Wilson has played Connecticut 10 times and failed to cross tonight's points O/U of 27.5 in every single start. Until she breaks that seal, we’ll stick with the Under on Wilson.

DeWanna Bonner finally broke out of her scoring funk with 26 points against the Storm last game, marking her first 20+ performance since the first matchup out of the Olympic break.

Prior to this outburst, Bonner had averaged just 10.6 points per game in her last seven contests, topping her 15.5 line just once. Bank on that recent performance as an outlier and stay with the Under until she proves her scoring touch is back.
