Dream vs Fever Predictions, Picks & Odds for Today's WNBA Game

As entertaining as the Indiana Fever have been lately, they've been allowing a ton of points. We can take advantage of that fact by targeting Sunday's 169.5-point total.

The Atlanta Dream are eyeing the eighth and final playoff spot, but they have their work cut out for them this afternoon against the high-flying Indiana Fever.

Atlanta is in a bit of a scoring drought, but my Dream vs. Fever predictions and WNBA picks expect big offensive production for both groups when the Dream meet the Fever on Sunday afternoon.

Dream vs Fever predictions

My best bet
Over 169.5 (-108 at DraftKings)

My analysis
The Atlanta Dream are tied with Chicago for the final playoff seed and they head to Indianapolis for a tricky matchup with the red-hot Indiana Fever.

The Dream are one of the top defensive teams in the WNBA, but the Fever play at the fastest tempo and are scorching the nets from downtown with a league-high 40% since the break.

The Fever backcourt of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark is the highest-scoring duo in the WNBA. Those two rank in the Top 3 in scoring since the break with no signs of slowing down, and forward Aliyah Boston is also beginning to heat up.

Indiana’s lightning-fast tempo coupled with Clark’s playmaking abilities have led to a league-high 91 points per game since the break and the same 91 points across their last nine home games.

If the Dream are going to win this game, they’ll need to score in bunches. Big scoring nights typically aren’t the norm for Atlanta, but this team is in luck as Indiana plays turnstile defense from everywhere with the 10th-most points allowed per game since the break (86 ppg).

This afternoon’s game will be a fast-paced, high-scoring affair. The faster tempo is what Indiana lives for and wins with, but the Fever’s lack of defense and high turnover rate will allow Atlanta to score enough buckets to keep up. The Over is 2-1 in three previous meetings and I’m not bucking this trend today.

Caitlin Clark pick: Fever star can't get going

My best bet
Under 19.5 points (-108 at FanDuel)

My analysis
Clark has taken the basketball world by storm, and she’s beginning to score like she did during her collegiate days at Iowa. The Fever guard has been averaging a shade under 25 points since the start of August and has scored 20+ in four of her last five home games but the one team that seems to have her number is the Dream.

She's failed to clear 20+ in each of the three previous meetings. She’s shot miserably, committed too many turnovers, and has scored only 42 points in three games against Atlanta this season.

That’s because the Dream backcourt plays fierce defense, and those bigger guards get very physical with Clark. They allow very few open looks from anywhere and Ponytail Pete must work hard for her shot, and that’s when someone like Mitchell or Boston can take over.

I expect the Dream to hound and pester her once more today, with the superstar ultimately staying Under in these Caitlin Clark odds.

Dream vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 169.5

Caitlin Clark Under 19.5 points

Kelsey Mitchell 21+ points

The Dream have managed to stop Clark, but holding both her and Mitchell from big scoring nights is something Atlanta hasn’t been able to do. Mitchell is averaging 24 points per game across three meetings and has scored 20+ in eight of her nine games since the break.
