The Indiana Fever are fighting to stay above the postseason cutoff as August wraps up. Heading into Monday’s road game against the Atlanta Dream, Caitlin Clark & Co. currently sit seventh overall in the WNBA standings.

Indiana is a WNBA betting favorite for only the 11th time in 2024 and our Fever vs. Dream predictions are targeting some of their key contributors. Read more in our WNBA picks below.

Fever vs Dream predictions

My best bet
Kelsey Mitchell Over 2.5 threes (+100 at BetRivers)

My analysis
When you think of 3-pointers on the Indiana Fever, you instantly go to the limitless range of the Caitlin Clark odds, but since returning from the Olympic break, Indiana has seen Kelsey Mitchell take over as the team’s prominent markswoman.

Mitchell has been much more active from outside the past three games, firing up a collective 31 attempts from beyond the arc after averaging just over six shots from distance per outing before the break.

She’s knocked down 13 of those long-range looks, despite going 2-for-10 from 3-point range in the loss to Minnesota on Saturday. The Fever face an Atlanta Dream defense that allows the fourth-most 3-point shots against, with those foes averaging eight makes from outside.

In the first two meetings with Atlanta this season, Mitchell went 3-for-7 and 3-for-6 from 3-point land and Monday’s player projections are calling for close to three triples again.

Her 3-point makes market is at 2.5 Over/Under with some books pricing the Over as expensive as -122. However, you can find EVEN money on Mitchell to make three or more from downtown tonight.

Far and Away

My best bet
Caitlin Clark Under 21.5 points (+100 at BetRivers)

My analysis
The Fever are quickly becoming a team no one wants to meet in the playoffs — and it’s not just because of Caitlin Clark.

Indiana’s star rookie continues to play at a high level but is getting solid support from her teammates since returning from the break. She's poured in 29, 23, and 23 points in the first three games back, sharing the scoring column with backcourt mates Kelsey Mitchell and Lexi Hull over that span.

Clark finished with 23 points on 8-for-18 shooting in the loss to the Lynx this past weekend, which was one of her higher-scoring road performances of the season. Tonight’s trip to Atlanta hands Clark a scoring total of 21.5 points Over/Under — a number she’s topped only four times in her previous 16 away games.

The former Iowa star has seen a significant split between home and away shooting success, averaging just shy of 20 points on 44% success from the field inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse vs. 16.6 points per road game on 39% shooting in foreign venues.

Player projections sit short of 22 points against the Dream, with my number coming out to just north of 19 points from Clark tonight. While she’s grown tremendously as a player since her first two meetings with Atlanta back in June, Clark managed 16 and seven points in those games, shooting a combined 9-for-23 from the floor.

Clark is fully capable of going off for big buckets but with her teammates heating up, she may not have to.

Fever vs Dream same-game parlay (SGP)

Kelsey Mitchell Over 2.5 threes

Caitlin Clark Under 21.5 points

Rhyne Howard Over 17.5 points

Mitchell has been extremely active from outside, launching up 31 attempts from distance the past three games. Meanwhile, Clark is sharing the scoring load and doesn’t always play her best ball on the road.

Rhyne Howard’s projections sit as high as 20 points tonight and she scored 26 against Indiana back in June.

Fever vs Dream spread and Over/Under analysis

  • The Fever opened as short as 1.5-point road chalk for Monday's game and that line jumped to -2.5 with action coming in on the Fever.

  • Indiana has a clean injury report for the first time in a long while. Atlanta, on the other hand, still has key contributors missing. The Dream could be down Cheyenne Parker-Tyus and Aeriel Powers in the front court.

  • The Over/Under hit the board between 165.5 and 166 and has bounced between those two numbers as of Monday morning. The Fever and Dream played Over in both of their earlier meetings back in June.
