Lynx vs Aces Predictions, Picks, Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

It's hard to imagine a team as stacked as the Las Vegas Aces losing three straight, but here we are with the Minnesota Lynx in prime position to pounce. Our WNBA picks believe the Lynx's sharp shooting is what will carry them tonight.

The Las Vegas Aces have not lost three straight games in more than three full seasons. The Minnesota Lynx can change that tonight. It may be bold to bet on Minnesota to further this Las Vegas spiral, but Lynx vs. Aces predictions can still hint at such a thought.

Our free WNBA picks ponder the underdog against the two-time defending champions tonight before tip on Tuesday, June 11, at 10:00 ET.

Lynx vs Aces predictions

My best bet
Lynx +7 (-112 at BetRivers)

My analysis
Two weeks ago, the Minnesota Lynx were 4-point home underdogs to the Las Vegas Aces, losing 80-66. It was Minnesota’s first loss against the spread of the season, effectively a sell-high moment on Minnesota, even if yours truly missed that thought at the time.

But the Lynx have continued to exceed expectations. They are now 9-2 ATS and 8-3 straight-up. Focus on those three losses in the standings’ loss column for a moment.

Minnesota lost by one point in overtime as a 5.5-point underdog at Connecticut, and it took a last-second 3-pointer from Kahleah Copper for the Mercury to top the Lynx earlier this week. Their only convincing loss was against these Aces.

So that should cover motivation or focus aspect.

To look past such intangibles, that +4 spread two weeks ago would have jumped as high as +8 or +9 tonight. Sitting as low as +6.5 reflects the differing trends of these two teams.

Since that loss to Las Vegas, Minnesota has gone 4-1 both outright and ATS, exceeding bookmakers’ expectations by an average of 10.3 points even when including the single disappointment. Meanwhile, the Aces have gone 1-3 both outright and ATS, falling short of bookmakers’ expectations by an average of 10.5 points even when including the single success.

The Lynx are for real, enjoying the No. 3 offensive rating in the WNBA and the No. 2 defensive rating. Meanwhile, Las Vegas’s defensive rating has fallen to No. 7, making it the worst unit on the floor.

Betting on the team constantly outpacing betting numbers while also betting against the worst unit on the floor is a rare combination too delightful to turn down.

Lynx vs Aces same-game parlay (SGP)

Lynx +6.5

Kayla McBride Over 3.5 threes

A'ja Wilson Over 27.5 points

Few sportsbooks are willing to allow genuine same-game parlays on WNBA games, forcing us to give up a better line on the Lynx spread in crafting this three-legged parlay. Maybe at some point, more sportsbooks will welcome this action.

Kayla McBride has changed the definition of good shooting. Remove the last week, and she is shooting 45.9% from deep with 3.1 made 3s per game, hitting at least four 3-pointers in four of nine games. Add in her last week, going 15-of-23 (65.2%) from beyond the arc, and McBride is averaging 3.9 made threes per game on 51.2% shooting, with six of 11 games exceeding this prop.

Against Las Vegas in particular, McBride should excel. The Aces give up the highest 3-point percentage in the WNBA at 37.7%, No. 11 in threes attempted against.

And that is why A’ja Wilson has had to shoulder such a heavy load of late. Wilson has scored at least 28 points in six straight games, and still, Las Vegas went only 3-3 outright in those. Without Wilson’s heroics, life would be even worse.

  • Spread: Minnesota +6.5 | Las Vegas -6.5
  • Moneyline: Minnesota +228 | Las Vegas -279
  • Over/Under: Over 164.5 | Under 164.5

Lynx vs Aces spread and Over/Under analysis

  • Minnesota opened as a 7.5-point underdog late on Sunday before falling to +6.5 on Monday afternoon. Some books considered +6 on Tuesday morning, before returning to +6.5.
  • The total opened at 164 and dropped to 163 on Monday morning before a Tuesday surge to 166.
  • The total rising while the spread fell runs counter to logic, given the last three Lynx games have all fallen short of their pregame totals.

Douglas Farmer spends his days thinking about college football and his nights thinking about the NBA. His betting habits and coverage follow that same pattern. He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
