Best WNBA Player Props for 9-6: Best Bets for Kelsey Mitchell, DeWanna Bonner & Rickea Jackson

Kelsey Mitchell has been causing all kinds of problems for teams in recent games, and you should expect more of the same when she plays the Lynx tonight.

It’s set to be a feisty Friday in the WNBA, with four of the top six teams in action — including an Indiana Fever team chasing a sixth straight win.

Kelsey Mitchell is a big reason for her team's recent success, and her points prop highlights my WNBA picks for September 6.

Prop bet #1: Kelsey Mitchell Over 20.5 points

Caitlin Clark’s stunning rookie season has soaked up most of the headlines for her team, but don’t sleep on Kelsey Mitchell’s role in guiding the Indiana Fever into the 2024 playoffs.

Though she was held to 18 points against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, that snapped a run of seven straight games with at least 21 points. The streak included a 36-point clinic against the Dallas Wings last weekend, and you can pencil Mitchell in for close to 20 shots again tonight.

Indiana’s ability to bend defenses with stellar backcourt play will be put to the test here against a well-drilled Lynx team, but I still see Mitchell being a difference maker on and off the ball — especially with all the attention Clark draws.

Mitchell has scored 21 points in both meetings with Minnesota this season, and I see no reason why she can’t repeat that trick and hit the Over on her points prop in this latest showdown.

Prop bet #2: DeWanna Bonner Under 16.5 points

-115 at bet365

Good luck predicting what this Connecticut Sun offense will serve up from one night to the next. The Sun poured in 93 points in a win over the Seattle Storm last weekend, then produced a measly 64-point outing against that same opponent on Tuesday.

DeWanna Bonner’s up-and-down scoring has been one of several reasons for Connecticut’s erratic form, and I’m fading the veteran’s points prop tonight.

It’s been an odd stretch for Bonner since the WNBA season resumed last month. She came off the bench for a game — making just two of her 11 shots — and has been held to 16 points or fewer in seven of her past eight contests, with Connecticut still trying to gel after the trade for Marina Mabrey.

And yet Bonner looked good in the Sun’s otherwise brutal offensive performance in midweek. She finished with 26 points that night, but I’m not buying into a bounce back just yet.

With A’ja Wilson patrolling the paint in tonight’s clash of Finals contenders, I expect some of the easy buckets to be walled off for Bonner, and I’m taking the Under.

Prop bet #3: Rickea Jackson Over 13.5 points

+100 at FanDuel

Rickea Jackson has pushed her way onto Rookie of the Year ballots this season, and I like her chances of providing another sparkling shooting night here against a Chicago Sky team that’s on a seven-game losing skid.

Sure, Jackson is coming off a rough 2-for-11 effort against the Fever in midweek, but she continues to be in line for big minutes as the Los Angeles Sparks search for any scoring punch they can find while nursing an ugly 7-26 record.

Jackson is averaging 12.4 ppg in 2024, but she’s scored 14+ in seven of her last 11 outings — including a 25-point game against the Dallas Wings last month.

With some scoring dips for Dearica Hamby over the past few weeks, Jackson’s one-on-one skills have taken on even more importance for L.A., and some of her best nights have come on the road.

As she and Angel Reese go head-to-head in Chicago tonight, the rookies should be among the biggest storylines, and I’m predicting a dynamic offensive game from Jackson.
