There is just one game on the WNBA docket today, but it’s one that’s been marked on many fan's calendars.

Forget the crummy Indiana Fever team at 1-8 hosting a so-so Chicago Sky side at 3-3 — it’s a pair of rookie stars colliding for the first of many meetings over the course of their respective careers.

Not surprisingly, the two highlight my WNBA picks for June 1

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Prop bet #1: Caitlin Clark Under 20.5 points

Despite Caitlin Clark odds being a hot topic, it's been a rocky start to her WNBA career.

The Indiana Fever have dropped eight of the first nine to start the campaign, and Clark has looked like a rookie trying to figure out the speed, physicality, and schemes being thrown at her in real time.

She’s averaging 17.6 points per game on a rough 37.7% shooting from the field and a 32% clip on over eight 3-pointers per game.

Clark is also putting up 5.1 boards and 6.6 assists, but she's struggled with turnovers — committing at least five in eight games — including back-to-back seven turnover performances in losses to the Storm and Sparks.

That’s probably one of the biggest factors curbing her ability to score the ball, which has been erratic. Clark has scored 20+ points in five games and gone for 17 or less four times.

While seeing a familiar foe in Angel Reese might provide some motivation, Clark is going up against a Top 4 scoring defense in the WNBA.

She’s faced the top two scoring defenses in the league already, and the results haven’t been great. Clark failed to top the 20.5 scoring line set for her against Connecticut, shooting a combined 10-for-26. In two matchups against the New York Liberty, she's had outings of nine and 22 points.

The Chicago Sky may be middle of the pack in field goal shooting and 3-point shooting defense, but they're tied for first in the W in turnovers forced at 18.8 per game.

It all adds up to another long afternoon for Clark.

Caitlin Clark prop: Under 20.5 points (-135 at DraftKings)

Prop bet #2: Reese Over 7.5 rebounds

Clark has taken a ton of heat off any other WNBA rookie — Reese included.

The former Tigers standout hasn’t had to handle the barrage of hype, and so her start of 11 points and 8.2 rebounds on 37.3% shooting hasn’t come under much scrutiny.

Reese has had solid, unspectacular moments as the Sky have opened 3-3 on the year, though she's coming off her worst game as a pro with six points and six rebounds in a win over the Sparks.

That came after she recorded her first pro double-double with 11 points and 12 boards in a loss to the Storm. Reese’s rebounding has been the most consistent, as she’s grabbed eight or more boards in four of six outings this year.

The Fever are a Bottom 4 rebounding team in the league, while the Sky are tops in offensive rebounding at 13 per game. Look for Reese to do damage on the glass this afternoon.

Angel Reese prop: Over 7.5 rebounds (-130 at DraftKings)

Prop bet #3: Mabrey Over 2.5 threes

Marina Mabrey currently leads the Sky in scoring (17.3) and assists (6.5) while shooting 39.6% from deep range on eight attempts per contest. That’s where we’ll settle for her prop, set at a very gettable 2.5 three-point makes.

Mabrey has crossed that total four times in her last five games, including Chicago’s latest outing against the Sparks, where she drilled 6-for-11 from distance.

The Fever are the second-worst team at defending the arc, with teams hitting at a 37.3% clip against them on 24.4 attempts per game.

Marina Mabrey prop: (-155 at DraftKings)
