With seven of the eight WNBA playoff spots locked up, we’re mostly going to see jockeying for position in the final few games — but take nothing away from a packed Sunday slate with some heavyweight matchups.

The September 15 schedule is serving up potential postseason previews, and my WNBA picks are focusing on three talented scorers.

Prop bet #1: Sabrina Ionescu Over 23.5 points + assists

The champagne is on ice for the New York Liberty as they try to seal the No. 1 seed this afternoon, and I don’t expect a letdown against a Minnesota Lynx team that should get their full attention.

It’s the kind of stage Sabrina Ionescu relishes, and I love the Over on her points + assists prop today, especially when she can get there on points alone if her 3-pointer is falling.

The New York sharpshooter has been deadly in her last two outings, making eight of her 16 triples. She led the way for the Liberty with 20 points and six assists against the Dallas Wings on Thursday on the heels of 14 points and 11 dimes two nights earlier.

In fact, Ionescu has hit the Over on this combo number in five of her past six contests.

But Sabrina has a point to prove against Minnesota. Though she had 23 points in their WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship clash, she was bottled up in an early-season matchup and held to 17 points when the teams met in July.

I’m not swayed by that, though. With the Liberty working on a five-game win streak, look for Ionescu to lead the charge today with another do-it-all effort.

Prop bet #2: Brittney Sykes Over 14.5 points

+116 at FanDuel

Give the Washington Mystics a ton of credit. After a miserable start, they’ve clawed their way back into the playoff picture and control their own fate for the No. 8 seed.

Brittney Sykes has been a big factor in the Mystics’ surge down the stretch. They’re 7-3 in their past 10 games, and Sykes was the difference maker on Friday with 20 points in a crucial win over the Atlanta Dream.

Those teams collide again in Washington today, and I’m picking Sykes to ball out with these tasty plus odds for a slightly adjusted points prop Over.

The Mystics have been careful with Sykes’ minutes since her return from a foot injury, but this is another high-stakes battle, and I’m expecting double-digit field goal attempts again for the crafty guard.

While Sykes is a streaky 3-point shooter, she’s 5-for-9 from downtown in her last two games, and that’s where the potential lies for her to blow past this line.

Sykes dropped 18 points on the Dream back in June, and this seems to be a matchup where she can lean into her scoring to help secure a win for her team.

Prop bet #3: Kelsey Plum Over 2.5 threes

+118 at FanDuel

If the Las Vegas Aces are going to win a third straight WNBA title, it’s going to require more than just peak A’ja Wilson — and Kelsey Plum’s shooting might be the biggest X-factor in the league heading into the playoffs.

When she’s rolling, this Las Vegas offense hits a whole new level, and I’m picking Plum to knock down at least three triples today.

She’s made at least three triples in four of five September outings and has jacked up double-digit attempts from beyond the arc in two of her past three.

That’s a recipe for the Over on this prop. With Wilson drawing extra defenders in the paint, the Aces’ ball movement creates open looks, and Plum has been making teams pay.

It’s no coincidence her steady streak from deep has come during a stretch where Las Vegas has posted a 5-1 record.

There’s some good recent history with this matchup too. Plum racked up 27 points against the Sun on September 9 and she’s scored three 3-pointers in both matchups with Connecticut this year.
